Anonymous, 01 Nov 2009"vertical integration"... Obviously an apple paid BS artic... moreSo tell me how does a phone "push" an email from where it's held on a server to itself?

              Obvious answer it can't.

RIM uses BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) or BER (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) to retrieve a copy from the email server (Often Microsoft Exchange but there are others) and push it out to the handset via RIM's servers in Canada.

A few companies licensed Blackberry for their phone's, including Nokia who got rid of it last year then brought it back.

Microsoft ActiveSync is a solution provided by Microsoft to add similar functionality to phone's without using RIM's patented technology.

As I said before, Google uses it to push gmail to iPhone's and WinMo phone's.

When I use facebook on my MacBook my iPhone is continuously receiving emails as soon as the notifications are posted not only that as the Internet connection on my iPhone is faster than my ADSL the emails often arrive before the notifications on my computer.

That is push email and the iPhone is very good at it.

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2009While driving most people use a phone + handsfree, on site ... moreThe iphone has handsfree features as well. My bmw has handsfree that works just fine with my iphone. Although I still prefer bt headset when I'm driving.

Watching youtube videos on the iphone is clear, even better when using truveo. It's not an issue.

As for flash, there are tons of apps for movie trailers, music videos, etc for the iphone. And since they're actually apps, videos have very good quality when viewed on the iphone. So the iphone not having flash support is another non- issue that iphone antagonists like to make a big deal about.

Itunes does not send you bills via mail, lol. Everything is done via itunes app, then you get your receipt via email, not post mail, lol.

I have no problems transferring files to or from my iphone, so I don't know what restrictions you're talking about.

"Even if as it is it does cut it for you, it doesn't for many others... such as smartphone users."

I know that the iphone is not for everybody. But the iphone obviously sold more than any other smartphone in its category.

Apple is not hiding anything. You can even see its specs here in this site. What's funny is, other smartphones that like their users to believe that they can do so much based on their spec sheet, but in reality, it gives mediocre, disappointing & frustrating performance and results. But hey, if you like to compromise for the sake of being able to brag that your phone has this and that feature, suit yourself. It's your money.

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2009meh, I sell Nokia's and deal with their repair issues, whic... more"vertical integration"...
Obviously an apple paid BS article as vertical integration consists in multiplatform compatibility.

Where symbian, winmo, maemo and linux based OSes strive to achieve overall compatibility and easy porting, iPhone apps are only compatible with iPhone.

Vertical integration with what? MAC? how many apps would you actually need on both platforms?
And how many people actually use mac anyway?
A colleague of mine asked me to repost a sfx compressed pdf because she couldn't open it on MAC LOL!

Of each apple advertising or "requested" article a single line is enough to give away the BS they're talking about... but when you talk to sheep, they don't get much, do they?

Oh boy, you have to decide, you either sell or repair, those are two totally different jobs in any shops. In the last conversations I had with you you had no idea of push/sync and where the server fits in all that mailing thing or about lithium batteries wich is really high-school knowledge about alkali metals.

I'd say you're a lam3r with no life that only posts BS apple advertising because you never really touched a real smartphone, hence you had no idea that batteries come wrapped in a thick steel sheet and not plastic foil like in the iPhone.

                  Get a life!

This Article explores some of the reasons for Apples success, it's some Canadian analyst from the RBC.

"Abramsky and team met with top execs at Apple and came away smitten. And for good reason: it seems Wall Street is coming around to the fundamentals that many of us have been preaching. In all fairness, Abramsky had been an Apple naysayer but came around, and big. And his optimism is only reiterated this morning.

The meeting was with Eddy Cue, VP iTunes and Internet Services; David Moody, VP of Worldwide Mac Marketing; and Peter Oppenheimer, CFO. And the takeaways were as simple as they were captivating: "The discussions reaffirmed our Outperform thesis:‬ iPhone Channel Leverage Remains High. Despite intensifying competition (Android, RIM, etc.) Apple continues to enjoy strong global carrier interest in iPhone..."

He adds that iPhone's secret weapons include: "Vertical integration (hardware/software) and iTunes ecosystem remain a significant competitive advantage over contenders, with evolving innovations pending, applications leadership and content ecosystem."

Which Office suite is better on the iPhone, QuickOffice like Nokia uses on their E-series or DocstoGo like blackberry and Palm use, maybe I should just get both.

It only has a three megapixel camera."

sorry I don't know how many megapixels the office suite has LOL

5800 yelds trice the DPI the iphone does because the sensor is bigger and better.

As for nokia, those high selling numbers are produced by market segments:
                                    Low-end
                                    Mid-range
                                    High-end
                                    And N900

Unlike apple that gives a single device that costs high-end and performs low-mid-end, nokia gives a choice.
This is called real marketing instead of creating a "cult" device http://www.cultofmac.com/ animated by pop-star steve jobs.

If you weren't so narrowminded you'd actually complain about the software issues aswell in the apple churches you dwell in, because usually where there's criticism, there's improvement.

But no, why in the world accept the facts...
Just insult everyone that doesn't see eye to eye with you and don't suppose for a second those people would actually get an iPhone if it'd get some of those software fixes.

It is a slow POS which n-sheep struggle with pretending that they are enjoying the painful experience of actually using one.

They are the poor relative of the N97 sans physical keyboard, the forgotten cousin who missed out when the N97 was given kinetic scrolling which the iPhone has had for years.

The touchscreen and interface are horrible, what's with the double tap here and the single tap there.

As I said before Nokia umber one cheap phone's for the biggest flock of sheep on earth.

Like all sheep they can't handle people who are not like them.

N-sheep become unhinged, they compulsively and obsessively compile long lists of imaginary faults which have no basis in realty, they save these lists and paste them at every opportunity, over and over.

It's like they are trying to convince themselves more than anything.

Here we have a fine example of the n-sheep in full obsessive flight.

Maybe there's a cure for these lost sheep, maybe not as it involves leaving the security of the flock and trying something different.
