can you have a persons picture appear on the screen when they send you a text? i know it appears when they ring you, but not when they text? i have an iPhone 3GS, the 32GB Model in White......... also, can you choose different ring tones for different people on your contacts list and also choose different tones for SMS Message settings? ???

'Battery Life' - can i expect much of an increase if i go from a 3G to a 3GS? I find the battery life on my newly acquired 3G to be rather poor.

My last phone was a Windows Touch diamond. I finally traded that in on the iphone 3GS... After less than a week this phone is the far better smart phone. For all it's great features: interface design, ease of use, enormous range of Apps, it's fun so i use it daily. Of course i wish it had a better camera, but this really is such a small point. It is worth the price. You'll love it. No regrets.

The Best Phone i ever had!
(been using nokia since my very first phone)
-Multi tasking (There is an app called "backgrounder" which will give you the true meaning of multi tasking"
-Bluetooth (File transfer? still not available for 3gs, but 2g and 3g already got an app for that it is called "ibluetooth")
-Camera (it got a lot of apps to give the camera its full potential, anyway camera of 3gs is good enough, and the video recording is superb! the best VGA ,same as n82/n95, video i ever seen for a phone)
-Themes (You can change the theme by using "Winterboard")
Now, you got it all..
Imagine, you have all of these plus thousand app and games, a very sensitive capacitive screen, and a very powerful cpu which can play videos up to 720p! 1080[ at the near future..

Offline Wikipedia
and a lot many more for everything you need!

Before i had the Iphone 3GS i had Nokia N95 and Blackberry bold. i enjoyed the Bold but the N95 was next to impossible to work. im not a phone wiz so i need somthing simple. striaght forward and easy to use. the nokia had an excalent camera and video recorder and putting it on my tv with the VDA cables was a cool thing. but i use alot of social networks (facebook, Twitter) and i found the N95 was USELESS! for it. all the apps for it cost like $10. were on my iphone i can have all my social networks for free!! iv never had a problem with it over heating and the batter is about 50% after a heavy day of use(that day including about 20 Emails some Games some music and alot of texting) so i would recommend the 3GS to anyone and i would also recommend the N95 to anyone whos willing to pay but wants a cool phone. they are both good! we live in a great age for smartphones! :)

hey everybody first of all iphone the 2G it is fantastic everything the touch screen etc etc .. but it lack the 3G communication but also apple hadn't stop they have made the 3G and then the 3GS and i mean it the iphone has the best camera ever the video format .mov and we know what is the meaning of a phone that can record video format .mov a high quality video that for the users who love phone camera then for those who love games come on look at youtube search need for speed on iphone or ten best games for iphone and what u say bout the size other phone it get gamez max 33 m.b but talking bout i phone it takes space at least 200 m.b wich means the game have everything in high quality graphics music events etc etc ... and u can see it at youtube need for speed for iphone then at last iphone itself dsn't talk bout the processor in the phone bcoz every i phone user knws that it exceed the 1000 mhz and the wlan in the phone it s more than other phone belive me and then the screen oh come on scratch resistanc 16million colour nd 3.5 inch screen no one have that big screen and what u want more 32 G.B memory and for music player its awesome the phone is excellent i say that its expensive but belive me it worth it so buy the iphone and have a lot of fun . joe

i bought iphone 3g when it was out but didnt love it and gave it to my wife. since 3 weeks iam looking for a new phone. big screen and a good web browser are what iam looking. i tried Omnia HD, nokia 5800, n97, Samsung Jet but i cant have the taste of a iphone 3g..Safai is best web browser and MacOS looks like the BEST and most responsive OS on a phone. i like my current Nokia E71 with symbian which is very good in my opinion but iphone 3G is another story. i ordered a 3GSto myself today. cant wait to start to use it :)

I think most of US don't know what is iphone.

Mihai, 30 Aug 2009I was not referring to me (as a iphone user) i was referrin... moreI can send MMS from my iPhone ever since I updated to OS 3.0.
It's a waste of money to send MMS compared to email but I can do it if I want to.
