foxy, 11 Jul 2009FACT: iPhone 3GS has a gobal shortage. If it was such a ba... moreThats because most of the people who get the iPhones don't have a clue what they're gonna do with it but because Apple is so overrated they automatically assume its a good phone and hop onto the iPhone bandwagon.
I respect those who got the iPhone for what it can do, but in all honesty, the differences between the iPhone3G and iPhone3GS are VERY small and could probably be dismissed.
There are many phones that are either out, or are coming out that are better functionality wise.
However the iPhone3GS, like any other iPhone in the past is not good for business or work. Basically the phone was made to attract those recreational users who would enjoy the occasional game while they're being driven somewhere. And as far as that goes, the iPhone3GS does a supreme job at it, also kudos to apple for a very responsive and accurate touch screen though.

I am very particular about 3 things when buying a new phone:-

    1) Message ringing tones.

Can iPhone 3GS message ringing tones play for a full song?

    2) Ringing tones.

Can iPhone 3GS ringing tones play continuous for a minute? (subject to service provider, in my country, there is this service provider which allows a ringing tones to play continuously for a minute before diverted to voice mail)

I heard from my friend his iPhone 3G phone needs to convert in order to set the mp3 to ringing tones

    3) Contact. Can iPhone 3GS set Group contact and set different message ringing tones and ringing tones for different groups set?

This phone is shocking. I have a mate who has it and says it's rubbish, to be honest, I wouldn't even waste your time looking at one.....

oh my god what a dissapointment! i feel like ive been robbed!!!! dont get me wrong having i phones for the last couple of years its still really good but this has absolutely no improvements apart from its got a video (bearing in mind ive had that on handsets for 4 years now!!!!!) its just plain cheeky ''the fastest most powerfull i phone yet '' im thinking great its going to resolve the niggling issues i had with them previously! nope just another well marketed ploy to rob me of £180 and £35 per month on a pretty limited tarriff for 18 months........ shocked and dissapointed.

Overheat- hoax or truth.. since its a mass production i'm sure it depends on the manufacturer.. i mean it does not mean all of this phone are manufactured by the same branch (factory) even if its under the same name. lol some users have problems and some have not. I visit optus stores today around 3 pm. they have 2 of it on since their shop opened. one was playing music and one was just lying there (both charging). both are warm though. The other optus shop i visited has no such problems. weird. lol still thinking of getting it or not lol

agree with dave, so far the only reason for getting the iphone is for its apps, not folking out £440+ just to play some cheap games costing 1 quid each! and on cheap 3d!

Expensive phone, lack of features. Only buying for the apps, not for great for business.

Anonymous, 13 Jul 2009I got a new I-PHONE-3GS the other day. OVERHEATED! Took it ... moreThat is an absolute, baldfaced lie.

What did you drive to the tropics with the phone in the sun, using the navigator and listening to music while it was plugged into a charger?

The lengths some people will go to try and make something out of nothing.

You got a mental problem or something?

I wonder why no-one has brought any of the ones we sold back with any issues?

Dani, 13 Jul 2009Just one question, does all data from the phone go if upgra... moreNo, when you do the update through iTunes you put your last back up on, which includes all your contacts, messages, call records, etc.

The only issues you might face is if your iPhone is jailbroken to work with a different SIM, then you'll have to jailbreak it again.
