Smart phone makes users Dumber:
I must admit, I have been a smart phone user for a few years now. 2.5 years with Iphone alone. I am a typical early adapter when it comes to technology, and I lined myself up for iphone 4 when it came out.
I didn't buy one on the first day for some reason, and I still don't have one/nor any other smart phone.
Decided to quit the life of smart phones. Not realising how dependent we become to smart phones. It was like a detox from a drug addiction. It was very very difficult. Couldn't get anything done.
Now I am a proud ownder of none smart phone with T9 keyboard, and I am loving it~!!! (4 months without smart phone~!).
This experience has reminded me of what my cousin told me few years ago. "In my country 80% drivers have GPS navigation in their cars, but not me. GPS deteriates people's orientation skills".
Smart phones are very good, and makes life easier, but easier is not always better. Look at WALL.E the movie for example.
Will you join me in my counter movement away from smart phones?? It's great~!

I am not anti-Android, but Android fans speak as if it is Gods cure to cancer. No phone is perfect, iPhone, Android, WP7 or whatever. Better to use facts, buy the phone you want, and enjoy it. Also, let others enjoy their purchase. Do you want me to say your Android purchase is stupid? Why should I, I don't know you. I am happy with my purchase, and I don't care about yours. You should do the same.

Anonymous, 19 Nov 2010the same goes for you when you write that the galaxy s had ... moreThe regular GPS circuitry and software aren't doing their job. Cell tower triangulation and WiFi location database services like Skyhook only take you so far -- at the end of the day, you still need to tune in to the birds a few thousand miles up to figure out precisely where you are. All Galaxy S models seem to be having trouble turning GPS reception into coordinates, even when the phone is able to see four or more satellites in view (four is the minimum you normally need for a precise, three-dimensional lock). In some cases, resetting the phone apparently helps, but it ceases to work again after a day or two of use. To our knowledge, none of the homebrew fixes out there have been able to solve this part of the problem perfectly and permanently.

Anonymous, 19 Nov 2010" android will face pressure from wm7 n meego" ?
... moreAndroid will certainly face pressure from WP7. Same manufacturers, same target market. Microsoft has huge resources at its disposal, you think they won't try and match hardware feature for feature? They would be stupid not too.
Imagine also the marketing promotions they could do. Free WP7 smartphones with Office, or Windows for example. WP7 certainly isn't dominant, but could cause a lot of problems for Android.
WebOS works similarly, but in a smaller scale. HP is a large computer maker, and will certainly try and tempt its computer users to buy a WebOS phone.

However that being said, iPhone has its own set of weaknesses. No phone is perfect. The iPhone will not suit everyone, I will be the first to admit it.
However, better to argue on fact, as opposed to stupidly following the uninformed crowd.

Anonymous, 19 Nov 2010lol See the way you look at people who like the Iphone 4! i... moreThe point is if an Android phone or even Symbian phone comes out, and I like it better than iPhone, I would buy it. I'm not going to be some mindless Android lover who will never consider an iPhone cos of some stupid reason involving the CEO or whatever. I like to have all options open, and not just buy an Android cos it's cool to be anti-Apple, or to buy an iPhone cos it's popular.
I like to buy the phone that suits me best. Screw what others think.

I love the Iphone 4. Steve Jobs is a genius. If it was not for Apple all other phones would have still sucked. The Iphone is also the reason why Android exists. Even after all attempts by Android the Iphone 4 is still considered the best phone in the world by 90% of all people including myself. All the palookas out there go and buy yourself a cheap Android phone and leave Apple and the Iphone alone.
