So many factors, easy to pick and choose. Did you know Android marketshare will be due to low end products? Did you take into account profitability? Yada yada yada .
The fact is the iPhone 4 has dominated the smartphone scene in 2010. The only way opinion will change is when headlines read Android-killer, instead of iPhone killer.

Android holds ~30% of the market share because people want androids on their handsets and they want choices.
Symbian holds another ~30% of the market share because people want androids on their handsets and they want choices.
iOS holds 5% because nobody wants to use iOS. iOS users hence, have no choice, they're stuck with a defective phone.

Android supporters can only scratch their heads as to how iPhone is the dominant smartphone according to analysts. Android can lay claim to many features but there is no ONE phone that brings it all together, in a beautiful design that captures the imagination. The iphone 4 has managed to do this.
This is the reason why the iPhone has dominated 2010. Android will face added pressure from WP7 and Meego, both OSes which target the same demographic as Android. 2011 is going to be interesting.

Despite hiccups at launch, the iPhone 4 has gone on to be the dominant smartphone of 2010. Imagine what the iPhone 5 will do in 2011, with the knowledge gained from iPhone 4. Simply amazing!

Anonymous, 18 Nov 2010no it isn't.....stop being biased.Actually that is the least biased comment, as complaints of Swype were made by Android users not iPhone users. How would iPhone users complain about something not on their phone? That's why the gimmick that is Swype, is just used as a novelty. Looks nice in demos, but reality proves otherwise.

Love the iPhone 4, but if I had to choose alternative I would go for balckberry torch rather than nokia or android. iphone still best ever!

Swype has been found to be very inconvenient in real life, and many Android users have stopped using it. Amongst complaints are, obscuring of the screen, difficulty of sliding the finger on the screen. So much for that gimmick. The comments by Swype's cheerios here are clearly not done using Swype, while my comment here is all done using the iPhone 4, the dominant smartphone of 2010.

iPhone 4 is heads and shoulders above the competition, following it's own rules. Ever heard of someone being a leader by only following other people's rules?
Android is according to analysts going to be under severe pressure from WP7, WebOS and even Meego, due to lack of innovation and a "I have that feature" mentality, without doing anything super well.
Before even getting close to iPhone in gaming for example, it had already been leapfrogged by WP7.
2011 is going to be exciting, with iPhone dominating the scene in 2010.

To be honest excluding the KIN this phone is one disaster after the other... first apple are totally incapable of designing an antenna... then they cant design a glass back that can withstand hairline scratches without fracturing... and now they cant get white right so they cant launch the white model they planned and whilst all of this is going on they also get wrong the software upgrade on the iphone 3g... also its totally over engineered why design the A4 when they could use a Snapdragon, Tegra, Scorpion or Hummingbird processors and why the retina display Super Amoled is better anyway they could have used a S-LCD its basically the same thing anyway... and the price its completely overpriced... a true disgrace of a reputable brand... also IOS is completely outdated in GUI
