Apple is just like the other companies, making a product that they think will fulfill customers wants and hopefully sell well and make a profit. Same like the Android phones. If customers all wanted the same features, even the Android phones would be identical, yet there are differences even in the Android phones. All this reflects is what each company believes is the best combination of features for the customer.

I never used it on my old phones, if it's so important to you. go buy a phone that has one and stop trying to tell people what they need.

I'll tell you how many: almost nobody. How do I know? I have two albums available on iTunes, but I sold 20 TIMES more physical old-fashioned CDs than iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazonmp3 and all the rest combined. So I just stopped advertising my music as "available on iTunes" as it's no use. iUsers are cheap. They just buy the phone to show off with an expensive device, brag how they legally purchase stuff, but in fact they don't. I bet nobody really buys those apps either, they just download them somewhere for free.

Stevie says jump and all the sheep say how high, Stevie says, you dont need a FM radio and the mindless sheep say in unison 'i don't need a fm radio' Steve Jobs tells me what I need and don't need. I would rather own a Nokia then be controlled by that skinny balding freak of nature, or maybe evolutionary miscalculation if more fitting

the reason it has no FM radio is the same reason it dose not let you share music via bluetooth it has itunes where you can buy money from and also has such things called podcast which make the handset better i think personly

Also are you not really seeing how the other phone competing and advancing? just wake up and do some reading, icon time is over!

I have use the iPhone 4 for few weeks. It never hang a single time unlike my previous Sony Ericsson Xperia and Nokia E71, it run so smoothly, never drop a single call, the built quality is excellent. Tons of app available. Now i know why million of user purchase it, the experience on this phone is so much different. Recently my friend bought a Samsung Galaxy S, yes the specification look great compare to iPhone 4, but after he use for a few week, the phone kept hanging, it just dont run as smooth and the design look so plastic. He has since sold the phone and awaiting his iPhone 4 delivery. I think why iPhone command the smartphone market, is the Built Quality, the Design, the stability of the iOS (very important) and the apps that support it, other vendor should learn from Apple and not just kept coming out with subpar phone which serve no purposes.

Single iPhone (now iPhone 4) against all other brand of smartphones. No matter how you hate it, you cant deniel the success of iPhone, something must have done right for Steven Jobs and his iPhone Team.

If a station has too much ads you just switch to another. I can typically get about 15 in my area, with RDS And AF (auto frequency), I can listen to them easily on the go.
Also to buy a separate radio is no argument at all. Phones (esp. those which call themselves smart) are supposed to replace various everyday devices. And FM radio is one of the most basic ones and easy to implement. The fact that the iphone 4 has none, just shows the narrowness of thought of their designers. They took the radio out just so the iphone 4 will be the only "smart" phone in the world without one.
