it's also running on an iphone mac os too so why your iphone don't?
it's because apple wouldn't support it, they like to make it into an app & charge you for something that's free.
iphone is good don't get me wrong but is not yhe best in terms of software & third party apps.

You have to admit guys the Iphone 4 looks very slick, The thinnest smartphone ever and has the best screen on any phone.
Camera is good too but most of us know that a handset with more mega pixels doesn't mean it's got a better camera for example the Nokia N8.
There's no handset out there that can compete with the Iphone that's a known fact.
I do feel sorry for the Nokias and all the other phone providers they must all have a big headache.

All I am saying is, there's no official report on who those 600,000 preorders are for. I'd say a combination of upgrades and new. But who knows which is more?! So you cannot safely say that those are upgrades unless you can show an official report. Otherwise, let's not make unsupported claims.

Looks good so far....I hope the battery lasts long though when it gets released. I hate when the battery drains quick. Most of the latest phones have the hardware but they dont have sufficient battery life. I never had an iPhone so far. Hope to try it out.

There is a beta for Android which runs on 2.2 on phones with 800MHz + processors.
There is Flash-Lite which plays SOME things (mainly ads) but not all Flash.
There is Skyfire which renders Flash on a server viewed from a phone WHICH CAN BE DONE on iPhones using RDP software.
So YOU decide what WE should use and present an arbitary list of things YOU say are supposed to be important.
What is important is HIGH resolution 960x640 MINIMUM and a gyroscope, all other phones FAIL based on these most simple of criteria.

I was quite interested in the Nokia N8 because of its camera capabilities. But the software seems quite boring.
I was opting for this iphone 4. What do you suggest?

so it safe to say that all of those pre-orders are all current iphone users.

It would be the same as an n97 user planning to upgrade to the n8. Or a g1 user upgrading to the nexus1. Name me any phone that has received 600,000 preorders in a day. You cannot say, "combine all the android phone sales and compare that with the iphone". That's just dumb.

N8 has a 52% of daily interest free from any other phone or OS lovers & more total hits than this iphone 4,so its crystal clear that not the iphone 4 is all the way baby but the N8 is...

If those restrictions would cripple you, then the iphone is obviously not for you. It's as simple as that. Those restrictions are business decisions by Apple. And they have good reasons for their business on why they put those restrictions on. You cannot say that the Porsche Boxster is a dumb car because Porsche restricted it to seat only two people and has limited trunk space. So you complain that it cannot accomodate your 4 kids and your wife like minivans can. But how about drivers who don't have kids and want a fast super car? Are you going to force us to get a minivan as well when we don't need one? Same logic here.

600000 iPhones being preordered on its first day reservation, omfg, any other phone company can compare with Apple's? None!! Apple's iPhone 4 will definitely rule the world again this year, Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, LG, they can all go home and cry in their little workplace, :D Plus it just got confirmed that iPhone 4 has 512 MB of RAM, which is why iMovie is only released on iPhone 4 but not on iPad, hahaha, iPhone 4, here i come, everyone else stay out of the way, i need to get it on 06-24.
