I am really surprised to see comments from other users on the features and quality of iPhone and other mobile phones. As some of the users said, I have used different brands including Sony Ericcson, Nokia and Samsung. None of them were able to impress me like iPhone. I know what a basic phone should have and what a smart phone should have. But first thing is the user interface and how easily you can navigate through the features. I have recently used N97 and frustrated with its UI. Samsung sucks in navigating from one screen to other. Sony Ericsson is some what better but again cannot be compared with iPhone.
One of the feature only iPhone has and none of the other smart phones have is Yahoo mail. You can have only Yahoo Plus in all other phones but iPhone supports free Yahoo account even. Browsing experience is excellent. No one can beat Apple in paying music. I agree they are selling iPhone at higher prices. This is the only drawback I have observed with iPhone.
Regarding Camera (photo shooting and video recording), how often we use these features. Almost all have a digital camera through they own a phone with camera. Even the camera in iPhone is not that bad. I have iPhone 2G and the photos are above average.

What I don't get with nokia ... moreMate, not all mobile user will wait every two years and buy essentially the same phone with a little cosmetic changes here and there just to announce to the world they are cool. One size does not fit all. People want choice.
Unlike Apple, Nokia competes is all segment of the market and as such makes phones that will cater to different users needs and likes:
Series 30 - Very basic phones with minimum functions (calls, SMS, radio, very very long talk times), around USD 30.
Series 40 - Low to medium range non-smartphones. Will have major functions (calls, SMS, MMS, camera, GPRS, 3G, video call, JAVA apps)
Series 60 (Non Touch) - Medium to high end Smartphones. All possible functions (calls, SMS, MMS, email, GPRS, 3G, HSDPA, high-end camera, Multi-tasking, JAVA apps, Symbian apps, podcasting, FM radio...you get the picture)
Series 60 (Touch) - Medium to high end. Same as above but with touch user interface. Plus live online widgets on the home screen.
Symbian^3 (Open source, touch & non touch hybrid) - Completely new OS (regardless of many people misconception that the UI looks the same as before, Windows 7 looks like Win 95 and IphoneOS 4 looks like Iphone gen 1 OS) that will replace all previous generation Series 60.
Maemo (Open source, Linux based touch/hard key) - Used in highend "mobile computer first, phone second" devices. Able to port Linux apps. Safe to say, this platform is for serious geeks.
Meego - (Open Source, Linux based replacement for Maemo that was the product of combining the Maemo and Moblin (from Intel). This platform will be for all portable devices : smartphones, netbooks, tablet PCs, automobile PC.
If you wondering why Symbian^x range when there is Meego its because Meego is meant for highend devices while Symbian^x series will run on most Nokia Smartphone devices.
By the way, even though there seems to be a lot of fragmentation here in the smartphone category, Nokia was busy "in the last 4 years" coming up with an app development platform called QT that will allow apps created to run on any Meego, Maemo or Symbian^3 OS (all devices, one app).
I know this is a lot to digest for you and might "confuse you". But worry not, you call always run back to Iphone's one size, one OS to fit all.
If anyone else is wondering why I wrote so much about Nokia on Iphone's comment page, its to reply to comment to a Nokia subject that the previous user posted.

And Apple didn't re invent, they just polished and made their devices LOOK good, which doesn't come close to functionality and production.

Ok here it is, the iPhone 4, what i believe evry iPhone fanatic has been waiting on. One thing that gets is that Apple have designed a whole new structure which at 1st i was a little sceptical about, but now that i have watched the WWDC conferance in San Fransico and have read so much information about it i stand by my decision to reconteact with this new phenomena.
I currenly have the iPhone 3G and it is not bad, considering that i have dropeed it like 3 times and it is still working prefectily with one small scrach on the screen which isn't an eye sore.
But let's talk about the iPhone 4! new concept design which i do really like now that i have seen more pictures of it, but the only thing is that we can only give our opinons about it, i am just looking forward to the day that i can walk into the apple store and hold it for the 1st time (as would the rest of the population).
Here in Australia we are getting in July the 15th which isn't too bad since my contract ends then LOL...
Also WILL ALL THE PEOPLE WHO BAG OUT IPHONES PLEASE KEEP YOUR COMMENTS 2 UR SELFS AS THIS IS AN IPHONE PAGE AND NOT ANY OTHER MODEL PHONE PAGE. TRULY APPLE HAVE REVOLUSIONIZED THE MOBILE PHONE.
Sure there are new features and there are features that other phones have had beofre apple. But think about it>>>>>>Apple kinda reinvent the wheel when it comes to phones, laptops, desctops, mps players.
So i would really want to thank Steve Jobs and the amazing team at Apple.

Hi all .. I'm here to explain to you what a SmartPhone is incase u forgot :)
Smart:(SMART is secondary because a phone should act as a phone to start with)
1.Multitasking (real multitasking), GPS, Camera, Office word, excel, powerpoint (Reader or editing) etc..
2.Internet browsing, email, etc..
3.Youtube, facebook, twitter etc..
PHONE = COMMUNICATION which means:
1. Phone calls
2. Video calls (not just through wifi and both devices should be identical, it kills the whole purpose) e.g.: lemme sit at home and video call my cuzn while he is at home, unless u have so much time and just figured to waste ur time)
3.SMS
4.MMS
5.Bluetooth (Sharing with other smartphones is a part of communication, not just which to devices of the same brand)
6. Infrared (which is dieing slowly but still used in some devices, which is considred under communication) NOTE: Making all communication types in a phone is good because u can share with any device old or new.
7.Wifi
8.Battery life (battery life is under Phone because as long as u have battery u can communicate)
9. USB (Micro, or any.. As its considered a good idea for charging ur fone on any different fone charger other than ur brand)
A smart phone these days have been forgoten for multimedia which doesn't serve in functionality, if a smart phone is not so smart and can't communicate what's the use of it ?! If a smartphone can't serve me and just would let me play with its touchscreen and download games and apps for it then what's the use of it ? U want apps ? Get Ipod touch, u want games get a nintendo DS..
A huge company like Apple had nothing at all, they got consumers by a brilliant marketing strategy which affected lots of people, their marketing strategy is good because they have no functionality so they just did something that looked good and felt good and to a viewer is just nice to see but has no functionality what so ever, and that marketing strategy includes:
Making a big deal out of nothing, and making their brand look the best:
1. Steve jobs kept on saying its the most beautiful and precise thing out there several times and saying isn't that cool ?? (which shows the way he wants u to think abt the product and make u think that its the best, to get excited and go buy it.
2. We have video call (only on wifi) isn't that amazing ?? We had dreams abt it since the Jetsons..(See that's making a big deal out of somthing while its already out there for years)..
3.These r examples of what he said, and go to the apples website, ull see a banner saying the "This changes everything. Again" What did change ? Phone calling ? Touchscreens ? Everything was out there they just polished it to look good for the poor consumers who look at good stuff. Its like seeing a fresh juicy orange which has nothin inside, it's a all looks that's what fools people. There are lots of stuff but I'm just tired of typing.
4. Apple products for example, they brag about having no viruses in their systems which really attracts consumers, well u have nothin compatible to start with to get some viruses and it all feels empty, just good looks and no functions again.
This sums it up for me, a little about me.. I have used every smartphone out there (including iphones) now using a nexus one and blackberry bold 9700 .. I'm not happy till now cause functionality is missing for me, I'm waiting for the N8 which I guess ill settle with, Nokia has served me well through the years and they still do, I'm not a Nokia fan no I have used everything out there,(mostly top tier phones) u name it and ill say yes but out of all phones Nokia (Mostly used coomunicater till the E90) does serve in all SMARTPHONE meanings.
This is not bashing or critisim, this is an advice from a fellow smartphone user, I don't hate apple I approve their fine OS and multi touch features but I said, looks are one thing for the eyes to see not to produce nor funtion.

Oh ya I forgot somthing, to prove apples Weasel marketing strategty, all of u remember the iphone 4 leaking all aorund the world ? A company as big as Apple would let that happen u think :) ?
It is intended and the whole story is intended, so stupid how some people believed that.
Ull ask me why they did it ? Simple, to get people's opinions and know I'd they need to change the shape and looks of it. Why ? Because they want it to look at its best. Why ? Because that's wat they did in everything, just good old looks which serve no purpose :)
Tricky people will always trick u, ull live an empty dream, which wen the time comes and u need somthing ull wake up and say oh that's missing, oh that's not there, oh I can't run this, oh I can't charge my phone I have no micro USB while all devices have it :)

You guys are being rediculous. why don't you all discuss the features of these nokia's on the ahh I don't know NOKIA PAGE? hmm... Just a thought eh.
also, the iphone is one of the best handset's I have ever had, nokia is good, but this is specs on the iphone. this is an impressive feat for apple. the handset's features have bettered the iphone, and the software is great!
Explain to me, if you all hate apple so much, why it is one of the best brands on the market and so popular? get lives guys. there's more to life than arguing on an iphone page, if you hate it, don't buy it. quite simple really.

They just had their maemo, and now they're having meego. And then there's also their new symbian version. The last thing you want to do is confuse your users, and that is exactly what nokia is doing. For me, it seems like nokia has been marred with bad decisions in the last 4 years.

Apple has explained their stand on flash so many times already. If flash is that important to you, then get a phone that supports it, because Apple will never have it on their iphones.
