Apple strong point is the appstore and games with nice graphics seriously im addicted just by using my itouch it has so many apps from music to games and videos there is nothing u cant find in the appstore.

But for Nokia Im using N97 its ovi store has so few games and apps plus alot needed to be paid.

I Cant decide if I should go for N8 With full powered hardware like 12 mp camera and xenon flash

or Iphone 4G with alot of apps but has restrictions. Its hardware vs Apps But to be honest right here in my country which is singapore. Everwhere I walked there is not a single person using nokia anymore everywhere i go is an IPhone What do u guys think?

Well I know a nice piece of engineering when I see one. It's always abour delivering something new & exciting. The samsung I8520 & Nokia N8 have these qualities. Apple have used the same old design which is hardly innovative like samsung or HTC or nokia but it is engineered well.

While it might be built out of metal casing well,
Apple does need to re-think I think for itself & for the market & for the wide range of user base. An absolute must if they are seriously thinking of creating a modern good phone but the design needs flares & difference for some people. But it will or won't appeal to you.

There are just too many gamers, Computer enthusiasts out there who are wanting High spec smartphones. ARM CPU's, Powerful GPUs, High RAM/ROM, AMOLED, High capacity batteries, High capacity storage, Blutooth, WiFi N. Large screen, High quality camera. Then again maybe there aren't. Performance is essential. Apple at the mo only seems to fit 2-3 of these sectors.

But it's anyones guesse what apple fans are looking for in their next handset. The rest of us on the other hand are embracing other phones for being innovative, creative, utilizing modern technologies which actually do matter & make the difference between buying the device or not.

                Probably most people know...

It isn't all about the hardware though. You need a good OS, a good user experience is essential, intuitive, simple, quick, easy to use, light, efficient, fast processing, Memory handling, lots of gesture based, lots of content & support.

                What do apple fans think?
What are you looking for in your next phone?
                What's different from 3GS?

Well I sorted of expected this outcome from apple. To bring very late to the table something of a mixed bag of technologies, some of which very desirable & attractive & outdated, & some missing that you just can not live without which is what puts me off the Apple phones everytime. Sorry apple, closed source if a big no no for me, flash, adobe, goole apps. Nope

First of all you get a TFT 960x640 pixel res screen. But skip to bottom of the list. Standard battery. Apple please define standard battery. Of course it will be sealed as usual, which is another big let down. The TFT, & that pixel res is going to be very power hungry, Old 7 power hungry for a standard battery & high res screen.

I know someone who has a 3GS, he can't use the A-GPS 3G modem when traveling for more than 45 mins without highly draining the battery. I can run my nokia 5800 for well over an hour, swich A-GPS off & not even loose 2 bars. The processor is not your apple. It's ARMS, don't go putting your patent onto ARM CPU's & say you own it.

It need to have a OLED or SAMOLED for 60% less battery drainage, 20 or 30% less reflective for bright sunlight legibility, not TFT. The storage is very nice, but WiFi again, this product has not been sadly signed up for the WiFi N certified products list. Speakers look great & will probably sound great, that's a must. 5MP camera with LED. Nah. Needs xenon & a least a decent sized CCD image sensor & aperture to call it a decent camera that will rival at least most compact digicams. 720P video recording thanks to ARM's amazing CPUS which are way better that anything snapdragon at lower clock rate with less power consumption, maybe like in Nokia N8 with the latest 45NM dual core. Nice.

After 3gs I really want to see something better.
Hate my iPhone just because is sooo outdated and cut every damn call I make, expected that new will be at least step ahead. NOT!
If this is the one .. Bye grandpa Apple!

have you try to compare side by side between iphone and nokia? If you just speak about spec, well i'm not an apple representative staff so i don't need to know it too much. For me as a user, i do enjoy use apple iphone than nokia that's why i have all its gens.
Touch and play not press to play lol

Well, well, well, what have we got here . . . People talking about N8 when this is supposed to be all about Apple :-) How interesting. No wonder Nokia is such a dominant market force. Eitherway, let's correct a few 'facts'. The processor in N8 is a beast few people know and even fewer have encountered. The N8 uses a OMAP 3620 ARM11 (the new, redesigned cortex8 at 45nm)! Is a 720Mhz processor down cloaked to 680Mhz. Is very similar to the Snapdragon, just more modern (less power hungry and about 1/4 faster at the same clock rate). Rumors go around it will have the cutting edge, brand new OMAP 4430 (tween cortex9), (at the same clock rate and about 2.5x faster then the common Snapdragon). Apparently that was the reason for the N8's delay. If that's indeed the case, I expect Nokia to become even more dominant :-( Now you've got some real facts to argue about :-)

Well, if you read the spec on the N8 even with a massive overhaul on the OS it is going to be awful. 600Mhz processor and 256mb RAM when the competition are rolling out 1Ghz and 512mb as standard.

OptusGirl, 22 May 2010Well id hate to tell you all, but nokia is not doing the be... moreIm sorry, Nokia is still better at what they do. They might not have the best smartphone, but they are better at making mobilephones than Apple is at making smartphones. iPhone is dead, long live Android! The future is open, not closed like Apple wants too.

You want to be stuck with Apply, so you can't develop or use 3rd party applications running java. Not able to modify your phone at all. Welcome Steve Jobs' Puppet... This phone is an outdated piece of hardware... Anyway apple can sell canned sh?*! People still buy it... Go figure!! Android all the way!!! Hopefully symbian 3 will kick bum!

Oh, and if you read the stats about the various manufacturers and their market share, Nokia are absolutely dominating every other phone maker. I believe they are followed by Samsung, then Sony Ericsson.

Nokia are also due to release the new version of Symbian on the N8 which will hopefully bring their phones up to date with the rest of the software available. But make no mistake, I intend to buy an Iphone HD/4G when it comes out next month!

                                      Optus girl,

While I agree about the Iphone being better than Nokia in terms of software and reliability, Android has been utilised across all manufacturers including Nokia. Motorola released the Dexx, that ran on Motoblur, their version of Android, Samsung the Galaxy and Nokia the N900 that ran Maemo, Nokia's version of Android.
