I'm still using this phone as the spare phone and it is working absolutely fine. It is running on 9.3.5. I do not find any problem in the phone. It has become slow though. Apps are opening slower than before. But once opened, all apps work perfectly and do not crash.
I find 8 mp camera is still taking good pictures than other Chinese 12 mp camera phones.
Battery is above average in 2018 due to lower battery capacity.

I love this phone!
DO NOT update operating system to ios 9! It will slow it down. I downgraded to mine to ios 6.1.3 and it works perfectly! If you're using higher than ios 6, you can google info on how to downgrade.

My iPhone 4s is currently disabled due to inconvenience use of the phone and repeatedly application of different passcode. Also, the back camera of my phone is locked. I can't captures things and beautiful views, my teacher's lectures, and some important documents. It's hard to use the front cam upon capturing it. I hope you can help to what should I gonna do. Thank you!

To those who are willing to get iPhone 4s, DON'T. Just DON'T.
Unless you're a young kid or a collector, Don't make a purchase with this phone if your purpose is to daily this phone. I'll tell you why.
This phone was released in October 2011 and became widespread in late Oct and November 2011. If you read the specs, obviously you won't touch this phone considering you live in 2018 which is 6 years apart, unless you're clueless about mobile tech or, don't care because, collector.
In real world, this phone barely run apps smoothly, therefore apps support is becoming narrow each year. Again you look at the O/S specs, Yes, you are able to upgrade to the latest iOS 9.3.5, Which is the last iOS update for this phone. I strongly DON'T recommend updating it if you're from iOS 8 and older, except you're already running iOS 9.
iOS 9 is too resource intensive for this phone to run it properly. Especially with those transparent and transition-rich interface.
Running basic apps like settings, gallery (Photos), calculator, memo, etc can run without too much problems. Performance starting to get impacted when you're getting into browsing, surfing App Store, iTunes, Social media, Youtube, and some tasking built in apps. Let alone gaming. You barely can play modern games with it without constant crashing, lagging, etc. Casual games do run quite decent fortunately.

However there'll be updates and notifications popping up quite often asking you to upgrade to latest software version which can be really annoying. If you plan to use older iPhone models like 4s I recommend not updating the software as it'll slow your phone down incredibly ( apple slows old phones down on purpose ).

Been using this thing for about 4 years now,incredible how well it has served me,i'm looking to buy a new phone sometimes in the future even thou it's as good as the day I bought it,incredible machine. The only reason i'm looking to replace it now is because it struggles to get wifi connections even when you're really close to the source. :(
