Any permanent solu... moreI had this problem and Apple support told me how to sort it. 1- make a backup using iTunes, either cloud or on a computer. 2- go into Settings-General-Reset- Reset All Content and Settings. This will erase everything on the phone and install the most recent version of ios. 3- restore your phone from the backup. This will restore all your apps, settings etc. But it will take a while, like overnight!. Solved the problem for me and other problems I didn't realise I had that were making the phone slow.

Then just forgot the idea of upgrading
