I have iPhone 4s and Samsung galaxy s2. I like both these machines, they are distinctly awesome machines.

Wish this had a more powerful processor and a bigger screen 4.5ish. You really can't tell the difference between the previous iPhone and this one.

Anonymous, 03 Nov 2011So you can use it on both systemsIf I am not mistaken, if you buy your iPhone 4S on a CDMA network, you are also able to use it on GSM.
The part I am not so sure about, is if you buy iPhone 4S on a GSM network, can you use it on a CDMA network. So far, in this second scenario the answer is no. I may be wrong of course, but I looked around a lot for this answer.
Again, this is not because of Apple, but CDMA networks, which are more strict about phones on their network.

Anonymous, 03 Nov 2011Yes you can No, you cannot. It is only posible if you activated the iPhone 4S as a CDMA phone. In Singapore it is activated as a GSM phone.
From Apple http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare-iphones/
CDMA available only if iPhone 4S is sold and activated for use on a CDMA network.
However, an iPhone 4S activated as a CDMA on the other hand, will be able to roam using the GSM networks using sim cards.
This limitation, as I said, is nothing to do with Apple, but it is to do with how CDMA operators operate.
