my 5 years old iphone 5 died on me recently, and looking forward to change to iphone 8+, must say i like the reliability of iphones because it lasts for so long. my secondary iphone 4s still works perfectly

Recently I bought a second hand iPhone 5 from online. But I did a mistake the icloud account not remove. Because I was not iPhone user. When I try to contact that person, already he switched his phone off. At this moment if I try to give hard reset, can I use my account or the phone will permanently off? Please someone give me a solution.

It is an excellent device and capable of run current apps. I live in Spain, and here it is frequently used. Thus, there are people that are still using the iPhone 4

Got this phone in January second-hand, so my opinion isn't as valid as it would if we were in 2012-13. It was my first iPhone (and Apple product).
Mind you, the battery wasn't in very good shape, but I got it for cheap.
The battery lasted about half to an hour if I was playing or recording anything. Using it lightly, it could last about three hours. If I was just listening to music and not using it for anything else, it could last almost half a day. Annoyingly, sometimes it turned itself off at 30%.
The performance was great. Maybe it was because all my past phones were budget ones, but it was amazing. However, now that I have an SE, I can notice a bit of lag, but nothing too extreme. I still could play stuff like Musiverse without any problem. The camera is a bit grainy, but still pretty good.
My problems at first were with iOS. I have been using Android for years, and I wasn't too content about the lack of a SD card slot and customization. However, I'm okay with it now.
It doesn't support iOS 11, but personally I don't mind, as I've tested it and I didn't really like it.
TLDR: Still an excellent phone to this day.
