My first iPhone gave me a lot of problems: broken screen just looking at it, buggy On/Off button (well, they replaced my first iPhone 5 with a refurbished AFTER they made me pay for a new screen bc they can't fix buttons with broken glass, but then they didn't give me my old phone with new screen, but a refurbished one after I had paid for my old one you know what I mean??????!???)
My refurbished iPhone gave me a lot of problems: stripes and random stuff appearing on the screen and then turning off/rebooting on itself and purple stripes when I took a picture etc etc.
Now it doesn't turn on anymore (tried EVERYTHING); I bet it's bricked or something like that.
Anyway iOS rocks, but hardware SUCKXXXS!

B... moreShame on you apple,my original cable founded in the box has been brokened since the second day after the purchase of the phone.And I didn't maded anything to it except that I charged my iPhone only one time and after that I put it on the box.Second day after I camed home I found it broken.Now I still use for more than 2 years an 1.5 m green Chinese cable which still looks like new an hasn't got any problems.

The thing that killed mine after 3 years was the battery. Battery life was never great. The original cable broke and Apple place an unnecessary huge premium on their cables which encourages third parties. Overall I think Apple take too much out of this relationship. I'm jumping ship now for a Sony Z5 Compact.
Great were; camera, screen, quality build and design, apps, ios (/ios updates)
Poor; enforced apps, 16gb without expandable memory, no NFC, small battery, cost

i been using my iphone 5 32gb, now i have 3gb free space bcoz lots of memory in my gallery,so far i dont have any issue or problem in my phone, still in good condition and his performance, iphone 5 is very easy to use in hand unlike iphone 6/s. and it can very easy to put in pocket without any worry bcoz of bending your legs or what.. i think i can stay here in iphone 5. have good camera im satisfied with that. have good quality of sounds, but when it comes to battery all i can say is theres a powerbank, i can give a iphone5 95%

used to be sisters phone. the phones very fragile, and could easily brake. battery lief stinks. got quite hot, and is slow.

I thought I would give a review for iphone 5 since I had it for 3 years.
The first 2 years of using Iphone 5 were great, the phone, the camera, messaging, gaming, playing with apps. Although the battery does not last long and you would need to recharge it before the end of the day when in full use.
After a year of usage, there was a major ios update from ios6 to ios7. I didn't update and maintain ios6. Most of Iphone 4 that updated to ios7 had sluggish performance. So did some Iphone5 but it was not noticeable since it had latest hardware. I didn't update as I always feel like any phone is tuned to the original OS. Other than that, I didn't like the new icons. The new features were good but I think, they could have just given the option of getting the new features without changing the overall look. I had to sacrifice a lot since I couldn't download the latest app due to requirement of ios7 and I have to carefully check the requirement of existing apps before updating.
The lightning cable charger is the most delicate accessories of the iphone5. You need to really take care of it as it is easily damaged. It is not recommended to use third party chargers even if its made for Apple products. This is where the problem on my iphone5 happens. Since my original cable charger was damaged and out of order, I used a third party lightning cable charger which is authorized for apple made products as the original is quite expensive for the flimsy design. However when I use this, it might have damaged the circuitry or battery. After about 2 years of using it, the battery had problem of dropping excessively per minute. Sometimes it jumps from high percentage to about 50% in a second and sometimes from just below 50% to completely shutting down on its own. When recharge, it shows a high percentage of just below 50%. Suspect is the battery. However after doing extensive googling, there are several opinions that it is not because of the battery but a U2 logic chip that was damage due to usage of non-original lightning cable chargers.
tldr-Great phone, low battery capacity for the lots of features it can do, flimsy lightning cable, only use original lightning cable, don't charge in car, no choice but to upgrade ios to use latest apps. expensive side if its only reliable for 3 years just like any other smartphones.

Just bought one after more then one year with the iphone 6.
The iphone 5 is so much pocketable and just so simple to use with one hand.
I got all i need so perfekt!

My iPhone 5 battery isn't showing the correct percentage as it should be. The battery percentage stucks at a particular level but the actual battery percentage is different. If I want to know the real battery percentage I need to turn off and turn on my iPhone to know the actual battery percentage.
For eg - Current battery 5%. I charged it for around 1 hour but it still shows 5% however the battery is actually charged around 70%-80%
For eg - Current battery 90%. I used it for aroud 2 hrs but the battery still shows 90% however the actual battery is around 5%-10%
Please help to resolve
