The iPhone 5 is not perfect for sure, Maps issue (hopefully improved soon, but alternatives are available), plus a chipping issue which needs to be verified by Apple. Apart from that, reviews and testimonials are nothing but glowing.

iPhone 5 low light comparisons in Iceland
http://www.tuaw.com/2012/09/24/iphone-5-camera-tested-in-iceland-shows-low-light-photo-comparis/
Additionally, from the article:
"Late September in Iceland is not a friendly place for any electronics... this is a time that puts your gear to the test whether you like it or not. Just in the last 2 days of shooting here, I've had my iPhone 5 covered in water from shooting near a waterfall and Jordan has dropped his directly in the mud. Both seem to be working fine."

Same report from Macrumors
http://www.macrumors.com/2012/09/24/displaymate-rates-iphone-5-screen-as-best-smartphone-display-theyve-seen/#
DisplayMate posts an extensive analysis of the new iPhone 5 screen and also provides detailed comparisons against the iPhone 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S III.
They conclude that the iPhone 5 represents the best Smartphone screen they've tested.
"Based on our extensive Lab measurements the iPhone 5 has a true state-of-the-art accurate display – it’s not perfect and there is plenty of room for improvements (and competitors) but it is the best Smartphone display we have seen to date based on extensive Lab measurements and viewing tests."
In particular, they note that the iPhone 5 has much lower screen reflections, a much higher image contrast and screen readability in high ambient lighting and notably improved color accuracy and picture quality.

Wow check out the Squaretrade iPhone 5 vs SGS3 toughness test. Looks like the tables have turned this time round for Samsung.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLW0HrVeoD8
My only concern is that Apple sorts out the chipping which is a cosmetic issue, toughness wise however, the iPhone 5 can take a beating.

Consumer Reports iPhone 5 review.
Bottom line:
“The iPhone 5 fulfills its promise as a notable improvement over its fine predecessor, the iPhone 4S, and belongs in the first rank of smart phones…
… By boosting screen size, thinning its profile, and adding 4G LTE access, among other features, his newest iPhone shows every sign of being the most compelling yet.”

Prakesh69, 25 Sep 2012My Iphone 5 is peeling at the sides and back just like the ... moreDear Prakesh, it isn't nice to tell untruths. You have mentioned your dislike for Apple many times here before, yet now you expect people to believe you bought an iPhone 5.
Seriously, it's ok not to like something, but carry it out in a more dignified manner. Let me help you:
"Apple should maintain higher standards if they want to keep their customers. Chipping out of the box is unacceptable, as people expect high standards from them".
Exactly the same point as yours, and yet, as an iPhone fan, I would agree with the above sentence as it is true that iPhone fans expect high standards from Apple.

AnonD-56991, 25 Sep 2012Yeah you'd think with how Nokia's been struggling the last ... moreI been Nokia fan since my first ever smartfone the Nokia 3650 ,,but they dont get fones to market quick..I have had this with Nokia for years you wait minimum 4 months before it comes out and just as its due they delay...
Your right tho Nokia need all the help they can and should get this out, however, via Steve Litchfield on the Phones Show Chat podcast its Windows 8 holding up the release..We can see if this is true if a W8 device launches before the Nokia.

As a vzw employee I just wanna say one thing. If I had a quarter for every android i had to replace under the 1 yr warrenty i'd be a millionare. If i had 1 million for every iphone i had to replace id be broke. obviously apple is behind in technology and processor and technical junk, but fact of matter is that the adverage customer doesnt care about that they just want a reliable phone that they can use and that doenst have to be plugged in all the time. Dont get me wrong android is a good product as well but in my opinion i feel more comfortable selling the iphone over android to any customer especially first time users.
