My second touchscreen smartfone was Sony Ericssons brilliant P800 followed by p900.Then ive had just about every smartfone except iphone 1,2,3 or whatever they call it.
The worst smartfone ive had i think is SPV E200 on Orange UK its battery was about 2-3 hours and it crashed like hell,,that said the super duper Xperia X1 was pretty bad too.

Peope buy Apple because it is famouse and there are no more flip and rotated phones, now a lot of people in U.S.A know for iPhone, next is Samsung and others phones, they are good but not as Nokia phones, Windows Phone 8 is going to be great and kick all! And also JAPANESE PHONES are best! Nokia and Japan forever! :D

Correction, nokia introduced the smartphone with its n95. At the time, the first iphone was released and lacked features, while the n95 is feature packed.
What APPLE did is introduce the TOUCHCREEN SMARTPHONE.
Overall, the n95 paved the way for all smartphones today.

There are a few things everyone should understand.
the Apple vs Samsung fight won't end.
My dad has the SGS III, Personally I've used the SGS III and it truly is a great phone. but the large screen is kinda annoying samsung keeps adding extra features that nobody uses. although I enjoy the speed and graphics of this phone.
I've also had experience with the iphones(3GS and 4S) and basically apple gives everything the consumers want the only things I don't like are the bluetooth limitations,and that the iphone is SO DEPENDENT on iTunes. but ihave to say this the iphone truly is the winner on this. it has the perfect amount of everything. the cameras brilliant. the chipset is stunning (Even though the SGS III has a faster chipset, the iphone is still a very serious competetor), the huge variety of apps are awesome
