If they do not intend to sell a budget phone, don't waste time selling this plastic craps at such a high price. Apple should come out with a iphone 5C with the same internal spec as 5S. Then sell at a bit less than the 5S so can attract people with different preference for the shell. After one year later, sell the 5S and 5C as non flagship device at a more lesser price. For sure, the demand will be high for both 5C and 5S.

But it doesn't matter. People buy what they want. I've never heard of an iPhone user complaining about "HD MP3". Hahahaha.

Plugged into a wall? Are you referring to swapping a battery? Haha. Have you ever heard of Mophie cases and the like? They have them for android phones too.

People buy the iPhone not because of brand but because of the build quality and long term use. Also support, in-store and phone.
All these things cost money.
You can get a Chinese or Taiwanese copy (there are plenty of iPhone 5 copies here in thailand) that have quad core CPUs and 1080p displays for a fraction of the cost of an iPhone 5.
But what are you buying really? Do you honestly think an iPhone copy can sell that cheap and be a good quality product? How long will you use it until it breaks? Who will you call for a warranty issue?
At the end of the day; people are free to buy whatever they want for whatever reason. It's not up to you to be the world's shopping police. Let people buy what they want.
Eventually the 5c and the Note 3 and the LG G2 and all these phones are all going to end up in the same pile of junk disposed recyclable phones.

It is the structure of the pone, it isn't a plastic back like the Lumia 620. That's why the Lumia 620 is a cheap phone. Anyone can churn out plastic backs one after the other.
The iPhone 5s' body is the structure. Everything is build around that. It is reinforced with steel and it is painted with thick coats of glossy paint which gives the phone a solid and very rich feel.

The lumia 620 has a removable flimsy plastic back.
This is not the same as engineering 1 piece of polycarbonate and build the phone from the inside of that structure.
Not the same at all.
