People using iOS is using quality apps, the launcher serve as a fast way for us to achieve that!
Can't say that for android.. stuck with lower quality apps and cavemen games/ 8bit emulator crap.. so much for under using that "awesome" power of your s800 cpu.

TouchID also achieves a very simple aim that is to make it less desirable to steal, given the hassle one would have to go through to unlock it.
Coupled with the iPhone's new anti-theft features which experts gave the thumbs up, perhaps the Android flagship owners should start holding their phones tighter as they may be the new targets of thieves.

The issue is with that laggy and resource hungry OS called android.
HTC and Samsung are forced to put everything tech to their phones.. but couldn't stop the lag.

On the subject of TouchID for iPhone 5s, Apple explained that it realised that fingerprint tech had certain limitations and thus Apple set certain safety controls:
1. Fingerprint data is only stored locally and never sent or saved on any server ever.
2. Extra safety feature, if iPhone is not unlocked for 48 hours, you will need to unlock using an extra password.
3. At no time is a scan or photo of the fingerprint ever taken, only a 'data set' is created, which cannot be used to reproduce a copy of your fingerprint.
