Hi guys. Im going to buy an iphone 5s for my mum. She is currently using nokia old model phone. I heard 5s is only rm 999 in Malaysia. Yes im from Malaysia haha. Thus , hope to get sufficient information and opinions from the experts and public regarding on my intention in buying the iphone 5s. What do you think..??

been using it since December 2015,still kicking now
the performance hasn't even drop since i bought it
the camera is good
the design and size is good
the battery is so-so
and just updating it to IOS 10 which is still good,no performance lose than the previos IOS
it's still worth for 2017 compare to some low-end to mid-end android devices and can still last until early 2018
but if you planning to pick this phone now,i would rather suggest saving your money and go for SE or 6S if you preffer a bigger screen

b) Overall iPhone 5s because it is much faster and has longer update support, and it also has some other things because it once was a flagship so the company gave it everything they had with highest quality, while A3 only got some little things from the S6 because then, the S6 wouldn't be worth it anymore. But then, the A3 has the better design (slimmer bezels, glass back looks great even though it tends to crack but same goes for iPhones glass bars)

iOS 10: yes
iOS 11: 90% sure
iOS 12: possible because every S got an extra update (3GS was the first to have 4 years of support, 4s was the first to have 5 years of support)
iOS 13: probably not
iOS 14: impossible
d) It is still pretty good in 2017, in 2018 it will be average, in 2019 it will be usable but not good for most of the people, in 2020 it will definitely be time to upgrade
e) Apple stopped selling it in early 2016 when it was replaced by the iPhone SE as the new 4inch phone. Those you can buy are some leftovers, but they are pretty pricey because there aren't many available.
If you plan to buy it used on eBay, ok just buy a good one and be sure not to be scammed
If you plan to buy it new, better invest some extra dollars and get yourself the much, MUCH better iPhone SE. It will last you much longer and will also much longer stay fast. I mean it still beats most of the android competition (just a tiny bit slower than Galaxy S8), has a great camera with awesome video capabilities and in my opinion one of the most beautiful design ever made on an iPhone (in my ranking, 1. iPhone 4s 2. iPhone SE 3. iPhone 5s (worse apple logo and shining chamfers make it look a little bit less uniform, but that's negligible) 4. iPhone 7 (currently using, great evolution of the not-so-great-looking iPhone 6(s) design)
