Anybody else is rolling on the floor laughing? *points to custom launchers on android sporting as many rows and columns as you like* Heck I'm on a 5 by 7 config atm on a lowly S4 XD.

My main problem with the IOS is the fact that you are not able to drag and drop any kind of music, no video support (for playing mkv) out of the box....

Comparing iOS phones angainst Adroid based devices specs is quite stupid.
It's just like saying 200hp american car is better than a 200hp european car because it has a 6l engine instead of "only" 2l.
As an analogy, you'll probably not buy a Mercedes Benz because it's engine is too small.
The right way to look at this is to compare based on usability and quality of craftsmanship. In this light, I say the new iPhones are comparable to Xperia Z3, maybe a little bit more polished.
If you consider the better build quality and slightly user friendly and smoother OS worth paying twice the price free of contract, and the waterproof or noise cancelling are not important, then go for the new iPhone.
My personal opinion is the best combo right now would be the new Xperia Z3 as a smartphone and an iPad for Internet, apps and games.
