If so, I would stay with android because then you don't have to learn the system completely new.
Else, try an iPhone and judge which one suits better to you.

Technically, the S7 edge is better, although it is slower but has better camera and display (not because of the resolution, but because of amoled technology)

I am a lawyer, and when I need a phone to call from it, I want it to work. And I make tons of calls. If I have to reset it 5 times before I get a reception (Vodafone, not something third grade network) the phone is not able to preform its main task, and that is to preform a call. When I put the same sim in a 80 eur Chinese Lenovo, it works fine. And for the body, They told me "it rusts because you have salty hands" Phone worth 700 eur rusts because of salty hands, even when it is 80% of time in its rubber case and does not get reception due to junk antennas. This seems pretty sad from my point of standing.

For the battery, there are thinner phones with more sustain in power. Try Motorola.

AnonD-642589, 10 Feb 2017Battery power starting with 1_ _ _ is something historic. s... moreI never heard of your problems, but let me explain a few things

                              1. it has a small battery because it is a small device. It is also pretty thin so there doesn't fit a bigger battery (or do you want another Note7 with bigger battery than safely possible). And a small battery also doesn't mean it is old or cheap. I mean, a smartphone battery, any size or manufacturer, costs about $2. If it really isn't enough (but I don't think so because iPhone 6s gets you through the day without any overheating), you can buy a battery pack

                              2. Once in a while, I posted a comment explaining mobile processors on Blackberry DTEK60 page. This seems just the right time to repost it. It is a little bit long, but here you go

The most important thing for a processor is the architecture. The more powerful the architecture is, the more performance you'll get per second.
The efficiency of a processor is also very important. It depends on the architecture. The more efficient the processor is, the less power you need per clock. That means you can also overclock your processor further without suffering from heating issues.
If those two are good, then you can scale the performance with the clock speed (those mysterious GHz-numbers, you know). As mentioned above, you can upscale this number as long as you don't have heating issues, but of course this also means it needs more power. So you have to decide between power-usage and performance.
The cores are just for making multiple tasks at once. For example, if a program is made for multi-core, it gives 50% of the work to one and 50% of the work to the other core, if we talk about dual core. But many programs don't have this support and also many don't need it. For example, you don't need that multi core performance for WhatsApp. The most prominent example for multi core use is video-rendering. But there really aren't many programs which need or support multi core on smartphones.
Also, those cores are divided in clusters. In the SD 821, you have 2 high performance cores and two low performance cores which work simultaneously. There are also SoCs like Apples A10 Fusion, where only 1 cluster works at once and the system switches between the high performance cluster and the low performance cluster.

Now to your wrong-interpretation of cores as being the most important thing. These phones you mean are often lower end phones, which have 8 of those low performance cores also used in flagships. But they can't deliver much performance because they are just made for light usage and low power usage. That's why an iPhone 5s performs in some tasks still better than a new low end octa-core device with 8 low performance cores. This "octa-core" is often just there for bragging with numbers and make people think they made a good buy. So you have to see everything from a processor, not just one number.

Also, these low performance cores are much smaller than high performance cores. iPhones perform best because they have less and bigger performance cores. Many other things are also important for performance, like storage speed (where Apple also is the leader with newest NVMe storage) and gaming performance depends on graphics card and resolution (the lower the resolution and the more powerful the graphics card, the better you can play a game. Another example where iPhones are also leading. They have best gaming experience because they have on par graphics cards with competition but lower resolution screen)

Ultra fast battery drain as a result of a little cold is also something old. I had to waut 10 min to get reception in the middle of our capital. The back of the device started to rust after a month. I would expect a crap service for budget chinese phone as Xiaomi, but not from "most premium" brand.
