I agree... Increasing the display resolution would be a terrible solution for Apple because it would compromise battery life and performance... IPhone 7 would might be even worst than the 6S... Thays why some things dont change...

Also, your claim that the processor and camera of the Galaxy S7 Edge is superior without the new iPhone being tested is decidedly dubious.

S7 edge is still the best smartphone. Compared with iphone 7 it has:
Better screen
Better battery life
Better processor
Better ram
Better camera
Better waterproof certificate

It doesn't care if it is iOS or Android or Windows Phone or Blackberry. Just because Android manufacturers make octa and deca cores in their phones to brag about it, it isn't needed. And as you said "The iPhone is faster even there" so I would say iPhone is da winner, gg.

Look at geekbench for more relevant info or better yet look at app launches.
The iPhone is faster even there but not by Antutu's amount. Antutu could as well be a random number generator...

Exynos 8890 has 129'000 (even slower than A9, so Exynos is just rubbish and Snapdragon is better). Exynos 7420 gets 86'000. Furthermore, RAM speed is not known yet but I tip on 1866MHz which is faster than S6 1600MHz and on par with S7 1866MHz. So not "considerably slower". A good GPU is not useless at a 750p display. In fact, it is even more efficient and the new GPUs are just ahead of their time. Wait 4 years and we will see where you will be able to play games better, S7 or iP7. And Adreno 330 is not good anymore. I know somebody who had Xperia Z1 a year ago and even cross road lagged. Where do u know the camera is worse when it isn't even tested? Wow, 0.1 worse aperture. Who cares? And sensor size still isn't known. I don't think the S6 screen is still better because the new display has higher brightness and wide color gamut compared to 6s. And iPhone 7 is not comparable to S6 or S7 and not even s7 edge as iPhone 7 has much smaller screen. And between IP67 and 68 is not a big difference. Even Xperia Z with IP 57 was mentioned as fully water proof.
In my opinion Galaxy S7 is worse than iPhone 7 and better than iPhone 6s (although the S7 is slower than even 6s). It's just a newer phone. But that isn't the case for Note7 as they used old S7 hardware to make that so note series is a fail since Note5 (Note 4 was good because it used a newer SoC than the older S5).

Also Note7 doesn't have f/1.8, they have a little better f/1.7
And also the waterproofing on z series is little different than on Samsung and Apple. In the times of Z2 and S5, there were caps to protect incoming water. Now in the times of iPhone 7, Note7, S7 and XZ, the caps are away and things like sealing and the speaker on the iPhone are for the waterproofing.
And I know that there is copying, also in car industry and everywhere. But the thing that you mentioned with "apple takes the ideas of others and makes them better" is still present with the iPhone 7 in MY opinion. Like the thing with the dual camera where they added bokeh. Same with the pressure sensitive home key which added the taptic engine to make it feel like a real press.
