IOS 10 minimum requirements is 1gb RAM. But you can not use split screen with 1gb RAM on iPad you need 2gb for split screen.

When iPhone 7 looks the same as 6, people complain. When iPhone SE looks same as SE, nobody complains. Design is so superficial. You cover it up with a case anyway, usually a plastic one. Aftet a few months, you will bored with all external designs.
