Feral, 16 Sep 2016I really don't know why would anyone buy an iphone 7 with p... moreSpecs aren't near same. OnePlus 3 is about the specs of iPhone 6s. iPhone 7 is a whole new level. And it has good RAM management so in this section, there will be no difference

AnonD-576060, 16 Sep 2016Yes , you're right . but I am sure that everybody knows th... moreare you serious, so what you saying is ios uses 50% the ram of android for everything, that is a complete lie, lets do some math here, s7 vs iphone 7, iPhones with 512mb of ram don't get the latest software so you can assume you need at least 1gb, making ios at least above 512 of ram when its fully loaded, add 200mb for background apps and processes leaving about 1.3gb free for the iphone 7's 2gb of ram and 2.3 for iphone 7s. now we take android, even if the os uses twice the ram that's 1gb plus 200mb for background apps the backgrounds apps usage will be almost the same if your running the same apps in the background, that's 2.8gb free for the s7, the apps themselves will use a similar amount of ram if its the same app with the same functions, there may be a small difference but not very much, the difference is due to run time coding. just look at the download size of the app, they will be very similar to each other. another thing is android scales itself to the ram size available, it can downsize its ram foot print to fit 512mb of ram. I don't see ios running on phones with 512 mb's of ram.

this happens on pc's as well, windows uses more than Linux based computers, but what your saving in ram is the amount that you are freeing from the os so if windows uses 2.5gb of ram for just the os and a Linux bases system uses 1.25gb and they both have 8gb in total your gaining 1.25gb in total not halfing the ram foot print like you think you are with ios. usage of ram depends a lot of the developer of the apps your using, for example, facebook will use almost the same amount of ram on ios than it will on android, the only difference between the apps is the run time code do you really think facebook would waste resources by having to completely different apps and 2 teams to develop them, no they make one then make slight changes so it runs on another os, this is called porting and due to both phones using arm based cpu and gpu this means there is not that much that need done to port an app, the same happens to games on xbox one and ps4, when you port a game the ram footprint will be almost the exact same as long as the developer dose a half decent job with the port

I really don't know why would anyone buy an iphone 7 with phones like the oneplus 3 offering near same specs, and much more ram and basic storage, for nearly half the price...

A lot of people here making up stories to support their favourite OS. "Android phones always crash", "specs on a 2012 Android are better than this iPhone", "Androids are not good", etc... are all nonsense comments.

First things first. Both OS's are completely different, so you can't compare the specs and say that 1 phone is faster than another due to the specs. iOS is a simpler, unified OS and requires less processing power than Android, so it doesn't need more RAM and a bigger chipset. Secondly, all phones (whether Android or iPhones) can crash or freeze, as at the end of the day they are simply just computers. But that doesn't mean they should crash all the time. My Note 5 has crashed on me once in the 6 months I have owned it. My Macbook Pro has crashed a few times in the year I have owned it. My old iPhones used to crash on me now and then. All phones and computers crash, so please stop your nonsense about this being limited to Android.

Really, both iPhones and Androids are equally brilliant, it is what the user prefers as their experience. Personally, I am an Android fan, but that doesn't mean iPhones are crap.

Anonymous, 16 Sep 2016i really do hate the misconception about ram on here, ram i... moreYes , you're right .
but I am sure that everybody knows that the android OS uses more ram (up to 2x) than iOS so the 2GB iOS ram = 4-5GB android ram ,
and so 3GB iOS ram = 6-8GB android ram . and because of this, I sayed that iOS 3GB ram is more than enough.
and I don't say that more RAM increases the speed of device But , It's for multitasking and some data usage but It can make faster performance for used (recent) apps & games to make them the same as you leave them to open another apps or use more data and not to lose your informations.
the faster device is from the CPU and some from GPU and little from ram only for used recent apps not for all apps and sometimes from less data and software usage.
check this link for much more informations about RAM : http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinions/how-much-ram-does-a-phone-need.
                  *Hope this helps !

AnonD-576060, 16 Sep 2016I am not an iphone or any brand fan. And It's real , th... morei really do hate the misconception about ram on here, ram is not what makes the iphone faster at loading apps or win in some bench marks. android phones do not sit with there ram maxed out all the time neither do iphone. I have s7 edge and I have 1.8gb of ram free all the time. the difference between the os's is that androids os uses a bit more then ios when its available, android can run on 512mb ram, the os will load more into ram to speed the phone up when it is available. ios over all uses less atm but that will change as more features are added, android uses more coz there are more features running in the background. the same web page will take up a similar amount if used by the same browser certain browsers are a little more optimised, but that makes little difference. people who say 1gb is enough or 2gb is enough coz its ios are completely wrong, eventually that amount will be to little, you can never have enough ram. the free ram on my s7 edge is almost as much as the phone 7 has in total, what this allows me to do is have multiple apps running at the same time without the os closing them coz of ram running out. ios is not magical, it dosnt make an app that take up 500mb of ram take up 100mb, no os can do that unless the app has been stripped of most of its features. what gives the iphone an advantage to its app launching speed is that it has faster storage than most phones, its not because of the ram or processor, the processor isn't even as fast as the 8890, look at the multi core score, that the over all performance and don't say the apps are single threaded for one core coz there not, why would developers limit themselves to one core only. the 8890 score around 6000 in geek bench, the a10 around 5500 for multi core score, if I have an ap that uses all 8 cores of the 8890 then it is faster than the a10. the graphics are a different as iphone have exceled in that department but It is up for debate if that's due to the resolution or not 720p is much easier to process than 1440p

And It's real , the 3GB ram is more than enough .
If the old iphone 6s beated note 7 that has 4GB with its 2GB ram,
then the new iphone 7 plus can crash note 7 and the upcoming note 8 .
Really , Apple makes the future flagships now.
