This phone is so unpopular

        Perfect phone for me. Iphone 8+ too cumbersome and I don't care for the Iphone X notch & lack of touch ID.

The 8 is actually... moreIt's because of the battery, I replaced my iPhone 6 battery a week ago because it kept shutting down and running out every hour but now the device is much faster and reliable. Apple admitted that their devices slow down in performance so the battery lasts at an optimum level. Hoped it help!

The 8 is actually... moreYou made a great choice mate!Well new IOS has problem it has slow down old Iphone devices.Even Apple apoligized for it.I'm writing from Iphone 5 and it is still awsome.I'm just planning for Iphone x,but just a few minutes before I have seen some complains about the Iphone x so I'm just thinking between Iphone X or Iphone 8,8 plus...Also my mom had Iphone 6 too 3 years before it was had battery problem I had to buy charger for it after 2-3 days,and it keep happend and at the end it got problem and got temprature problem.It didnt even work for year...But Iphone 6s and 6s plus was better and greater than Iphone 6.Now I'm excited to get between Iphone 8\8+ or maybe Iphone X...no need to hate Apple. :-D.And yeah Happy New Year to all!!

                    My iPhone 6 slowed down. Had to get an 8. The 8 is actually really fast! But surprisingly my 5S has not slowed down just the 6. I love and hate Apple.

I try to be objective as much as I can, because a good phone is a good phone. In my opinion, it’s kinda more of personal taste what will suit you better.
                      It’s almoust 100% sure that whether you choose iPhone8 or S8 - you will be satisfyed by your phone.
                      I agree with what you stated why iPhone does hold greater value. Just Apple is slowing down phones with years, as battery degrades... you will either lose performance, or you will have to change it’s battery. And that’s the biggest part why I’m really glad I picked S8.

If you look at how long the phone will last, I‘m sure, because of the higher benchmarks but also the software support, that the iPhone 8 will be better. Right now, the S8 is probably better because the iPhone 8 was a really minor upgrade but came in at a higher price, all because the iPhone X is now their best phone. It‘s like the Samsung MU 8000 TV series from Samsung, which is the successor to the KS 8000 which was much better. If Apple wants to save this phone, they have to reduce the price dramatically, so that it sits right above the iPhone 7, maybe a €50 difference.

                        So I think today, the S8 is the better phone and got much more value for money. But after 3 or 4 years, an iPhone will always win. Even the 7 will be better, because of the iPhone‘s longevity, you unfortunately also have to pay for.

                        I hope I didn’t sound like a fanboy because I always try to be fair and such. I think you were really fair with a big part your statement, and this has become uncommon on this website.

                              I had dilemma between iPhone8 and Galaxy S8... what to buy?
                              I got the Galaxy S8 and I didn't regret it.
                              I chose better screen, good battery, headphone jack and other features over benchmark performance. I know iPhone is incredibly fast, just I don't need that, and I don't use my phone for stuff like gaming. But I do need features, and infinity display, battery and headphone jack. Now, hearing that Apple slows down older phones - I'm really glad I got the S8. It's much better in the long run.
