I still have 5S, which is now 4 yeas old, and it still works like a charm. Maybe you should try it, instead of judging it by some biased X-brand opinion.

I still like how they evolve and improve a working product, but the upgrade is just too small to justify the high(er) price.

It has 3... moreJust wait 2 years: your phone will lag as hell, the camera will show problems, the storage will be slow as heck, the back panel and front panel will be cracked because of this fragile edge, the phone will only last 2 hours because of touchwiz problems and the update cycle will end so you won't enjoy the fancy new features of android Q. At that time, I will be here sitting with my mint condition iPhone 7 128GB and enjoy the latest iOS with faster speed than new android phones and look forward to what the rest of the 5 years of update support will bring.

One thing which makes apple different from Samsung is the reliability. The phone will literally last forever, doesn't hang and is damn secure.Security is the reason why there is an apple ecosystem. I have an iPhone 6 and it still doesn't hang and works like a charm. Samsung starts hanging after 6months of use and softwareupdates makes it even worse.

That is those that just buy up anything apple puts out there just because it's apple. I've been buying iPhones and Samsung as they hit the market cos I like using 2 phones. I usually end up giving away my iphone at the 4th month. Samsung does everything it does and better. I think I will wait for the upgrade of the IPhone x next year.

It has 384 GB's of memory, a wonderful Sony camera which doesn't protrude from the back of it's case, dual SIM's, a larger display, a more powerful battery, device connectivity which is universal (except for iPhone accessories), iris recognition as well as facial (an iPhone X fail) and fingerprint. Not to mention it's display isn't scarred by a ridiculous cutout. If that's your real concern go ahead and buy the iPhone X. You may have to wait awhile since Apple has serious vendor and supply issues and by the time you buy the wireless charger, lighting stand, case and insurance you'll have spent around $1,650.00 USD. Apple is counting on people like you since there devices continue to lose marketshare to less expensive and better equipped Android Smartphone Devices.

looks like the the main difference between the iPhone 7's and these 8's is the move to glass backs to allow wireless charging.

All of them have served their purpose. The difference is the durability of the Iphones and the consistency of the software I still have as backup Iphones 5 and 5s. My S5 does not work anymore.
