Using an iOS device after using Androids for years shows how well refined, designed and well thought out iOS is. The whole experience screams quality and premium. Android just mimicks speed with animations turned down. Doesn't make it faster by any means. Also app optimizations matter too.

QUESTION:
If single core benchmarks of iphone 8plus almost 2 times higher than of galaxy note 8, then how come most common apps (weather channel , accuwether , all google apps, all transportation apps and WhatsApp and Viber ) all opening with exact same speed of the galaxy note 8? Even couple of apps open by one second faster on note 8.
There was also a test on youtube that showed that one plus 5 outperforms iPhone 8 Plus by an average of 1 sec In opening most apps.
Google chrome is the only app where page load speeds on iPhone are by 2-3 seconds faster than of note 8

Best Gaming
The A11 Chipset has more raw power at peak performance but after a short period of time with only 3 GB of RAM it bugs down due to RAM Management issues. Updates
Apple has a better update policy but Android has made progress as well. The Galaxy S9 has had 3 updates since it was introduced which isn't a bad thing. If buyers planned on keeping a device 8 years it might be a valid concern. Most users change devices every 2 to 3 years.
Bezels
If bezels a so great why is Apple doing all they can to reduce or eliminate them?
Aspect Ratio
16:9 is being phased out in favor of 18:9 and it makes much more sense in larger pixel dense displays. Android devices also have Fit to Screen which eliminates black bars in the 16:9 Aspect Ratio. iPhone 8 is also moving to 18:9.

It has a dual camera about the same as iphone X.
Galaxy S9 Android device is the highest rated camera and with it's Dual Aperture it really crushes lowlight snaps.

If you buy other Apple device like AirPods or Apple Watch or even Mac you will feel how good those interact.
They may interact well together but only with Apple's proprietary gear and with a slew of adapters, dongles and cables. They want to KEEP YOU in their Ecosystem only to maximize profit.
iPhone 6s Plus from 3 years ago sold for $750 at launch for 16gb option.. go on Ebay, all of them are at least $350 in good condition and the ones in pristine condition are sold for even more.
Forget the iPhone 6s, the iPhone 8 initially released in September, 2017, you can find them on ebay after less than a year on the market for $350.00 and less.
