I've recently switched to a refurbished Iphone 8 Plus from an Android phone, after 2 months of using the Iphone, I am making the decision to switch back to Android again.
The Iphone 8 plus is fast and reliable, no random app crashes on the Iphone, but I rely on sideloaded apps too much.
On the Iphone I’ve been using Altstore, but I have to refresh the apps every 7 days, which is a pain for me since I live in a college dorm where I can’t do that using the wifi, I always have to plug in to refresh the apps, there is also the limit of only two sideloaded apps, lastly the Alstore server and icloud running in the background on my pc make the fan start up which bothers me.
There is also the factor that I live in Europe, basically meaning that nobody uses iMessage or Facetime, Europe is dominated by Whatsapp so there really is no advantage to owning an Iphone only for those features here, what contributes more to that problem is that all of my friends own Android phones and don’t show slight interest to switch to Iphone anytime soon.
Lastly is the factor that I’m not really into the ecosystem or other Apple products in general, when it comes to smartwatches I prefer round watches, that’s why I own a first gen Galaxy Watch, the biggest problem of owning a Galaxy Watch or any Android friendly smartwatch is that it loses half of its functionally on an Iphone.
There is also my computer which runs Windows, I just prefer Windows or Linux over Mac OS which has never been appealing to me, so I can’t use airdrop, the same applies to my tablet which is a Galaxy Tab running Android that I wouldn't switch for an Ipad because of sideloading and Samsung Dex desktop future that is useful to me.
I want to end this post by saying that as a primarily Android user I understand the appeal of an Iphone, it has a super user friendly interface, no crashes and just works, but for someone that has been using Android since 2011 and sideloading apps It just isn’t the right choice and it would be difficult for me to switch knowing the features I’m losing from Android, still if you don’t rely on sideloading, aren’t into customization or already own a other Apple product, an Iphone would probably suit you perfectly.

I never had issues with privacy, they aren't as vulnerable as it is, but luckily they didn't have any problems with it!

So you'd recommend it for a first time econ... moreAvoid the iPhone model number with Intel Modem, it is slower and signal coverage is worse than Snapdragon, i owned 8 plus with intel modem and 6S plus which 100% all model are snapdragon modem, it is much better for signal coverage and speed, also for locking A-GPS
Intel modem is sucks because of that problem, A-GPS is hard to lock, always losing position, but 6SP with snapdragon i didn't get any trouble except the signal strength is not too strong like android

i cloud services will not be available unless i agree
is there any prob. Regarding safety or privacy regarding those terms?

I have this phone from new, just upated it to iOS 15. Evertything is still smooth. Also it has a new battery from iFixIt, the original one was at 70% when I changed it last year. Wanted to upgrade to iPhone 13, but since it's still going strong and personally can't see anything revolutionary with the new one, I'll wait for the iPhone 14, or whatever will be called.
