The price difference vs (Performance / Battery / Updates / Support / Warranty) out weigh the cons.
And to even compare the difference in price between SE / 5S, means either you are very poor, or need the money for other things, then in that case, mind as well buy a cheap china Android phone and save even more.

Longer support, better performa... more5s is a great phone, one will notice the SE has higher performance but 5s is very capable and can still play any heavy 3D game better than any new flagship android phone. A plain Subaru Impreza cost much less than a more powerful German made 4WD sedan but the Sub is still a better 4WD and the 5s offers a similar value for the money, not only for the poor but a smart buy for the rich who has their priorities figured out.
Only a poor person would say the 5s is for the poor, hiding your poverty behind expensive phones isnt fooling anyone. People with good economy simply arent as ignorant as you.

Had a silver 5s awhile back, it got stolen and I have missed it ever since. Love the SE. it's so snappy, it really makes using it a real joy. and the smaller size is just great for my hands. Ive had bigger phones and they are always so clunky and i always end up catching it with 2 hands. Thanks Apple for the Rose Gold 5s/SE

Snow Leopard is ancient. Anyway, you should have no fear about iCloud backup. Just turn off Photos / WhatsApp chat history (Manually backup). Even with 2 128GB iDevices, still surviving on free iCloud plan.

Apple is forcing us to use the cloud or buy a new computer!
