This is my favorite iPhone ever but not my favorite phone ever. That honor is between my Essential Phone or LG G5 depending on my mood. As of now, the Essential Phone because it happens to be where my sim is and I just prefer the software experience, size, and longer battery life.

I will admit my SE is starting to have issues using Safari especially when I go to the mobile Twitter page. Since my SE will be near 2-years-old by May 20, it could be throttling down thanks to the degraded battery. My SE is still on 10.2.1. This is fairly annoying. It's why I can never have an iPhone as my favorite.

If I check my Bovada account, I can't see anything using Safari. On my Androids using Kiwi Browser, I can see the odds. This is why I will always be an Android guy. I started on iOS first like 11 years ago but Android has been my OS for nearly 8 years. I really only use my SE to text relatives thanks to iMessages.

Upgraded from a 5s to a SE. The performance bump and better rear camera are delightful. As a macOS user (but not a fanboy) and wanting to stay with a truly small phone with a good enough camera I decided to stick with Apple (a refurbed 64GB for $US165). I looked hard at Xiaomi's Android One and MIUI handsets, and Sony's XZs with/without SailFish. I use Google for search, maps and translations, but that is as far as I'll go with them in my life. So a slightly complex decision based on size, Apple ecosystem integration, not learning a new OS to a level for some privacy, and price.

If you can live with the smaller screen, the SE is still an excellent phone. If that screen is too small for you, you're better off spending a bit more on the iPhone 6s or 7. I personally switched in 2016 from the iPhone 5 to the iPhone 7 and while I think the 5 screen is livable, the bigger screen of the 7 makes the phone more pleasant to use. But as I said, take a look at the 6s, it is just like the SE but with a bigger screen (and some smaller goodies like faster fingerprint reader, better selfie cam and better screen quality, but those should not be the most important things in the world)

My favorite phone eveeeeeeeeeeer! I wish apple release an iphone se 2!! that would be amazing!

Still the best iPhone ever made and I'm not even an iOS fan. The Dasher app is inferior on the platform. I only keep it for the jack and iMessages to my relatives.

I was checking out my space gray SE and the design is quite remarkable for essentially a 6 to 7-year-old design. Yes, it has giant top and bottom bezels but the design still is quite timeless and gorgeous.

Yeah, for the price, SE seems the better choice. I use the laptop for movies + games. Occasional YouTube videos will play just fine on SE and i can install a new battery for 20$ which will make the device perform better.

Refurbished iPhone 7's water resistance might be compromised and the battery health is around 80% (there are no official Apple Stores here in my country).

                                Thanks again :)

I am assuming you don't want to wait for SE 2.

Of course iPhone 7 is more powerful, with a better front camera, a bigger screen, and a better battery. But then, it costs over twice as much as the SE does (in your case). And SE has A9, which is just as good as iPhone 7's A10. I mean, unless you are playing graphics intensive games, editing videos, etc, you won't even notice the performance difference between the two when launching everyday apps. And it's rear camera does the job. It would cost you just 180$, which is the best part.
It comes down to couple of things (mainly) :

1 : If you are not buying it for media consumption or gaming, SE's screen is good enough. Heck! You'll actually enjoy it a lot more than iPhone 7's screen because of its smaller size and you will find it difficult to like larger screens.
2 : If you don't care about updates, you can go with the SE. A10 makes iPhone 7 a bit more future proof (though it's a 2 years old CPU). When iOS 13 comes out, it'd probably run better on the A10, just a guess. Who knows? iOS is optimized and maybe, iOS 13 will run just as smooth on A9 as well. No doubt A9 is a powerful chipset. Even the first generation iPad pro has it. I am just a bit skeptical about SE's battery. If you are getting a new phone, battery backup will be decent of course. If you do get the SE, just make sure you don't update to the latest iOS right away. Let others install it first, lol. Wait for a few days to know from others whether it's safe to update or not. Well, this is true for any other phone.

If I were you, I'd go with the SE. Price gap between the two is pretty significant, which makes SE truly a compelling choice. That apart, I love smaller screen phones. But that's just me. And you'll be fine with either

Where I live, refurbished iPhone SE can be bought for around 180$ and iPhone 7 (refurbished) is available for around 400$.

I'm kinda stuck in between these 2 options because for extra 200$ I'd be getting stuff like a better display, a faster chipset, a better camera (specially the selfie shooter), stereo speakers if I go for the iPhone 7.

But the smaller iPhone SE is more compact with a classic design, much more affordable, A9 chipset is still pretty capable, 2GB RAM is pretty much enough still in 2019 and i get a headphone jack too!

I'm really stuck here being not able to decide which one should i buy! What do you guys think? Should i spend that extra 220 and go for the 7 or save 220 by setting with SE?

(PS: I'm a student - I won't be playing FPS games which takes advantage of 3D touch)
