Any reason to switch from Galaxy A20 to the new SE? Exynos 7884 is meh and iPhone has much better chipset. Rumored price tag is appealing too, not to mention it would compliment my iPad 7 perfectly.

Anonymous, 07 Apr 2020Looks like a 50 dollar android phone May well do, but the $50 android phone will be dead within 3 months, the iPhone will still be going strong in 5 years.

The old saying goes "Buy cheap, buy twice".

X User, 10 Apr 2020Truth to be told, I am an iPhone X User that jumped to ASUS... more^
        Agreed.
I'm also not a big fan of Apple, but i believe this phone can/might/will sell like crazy.
People are fed up with stupid bezel less devices huge notches. Accidental touches occur like crazy, and i don't even need to talk about Samsung's curved display at all...
I'm glad that Apple realized this, and it's about time they break the ice and release something compact.
Last time a good compact device got released was last year, and it was the S10e.

Truth to be told, I am an iPhone X User that jumped to ASUS ROG 2 as I hated the stupid notch. Trust me when I say having bezels is ok, especially playing games. 4.7 inch for me is still acceptable to play games. I know many will differ and the ASUS ROG 2 is still a good phone for me. But this phone will serve the purpose of retaining all my iPhone X data.

Even my mother in law will be getting one as she prefers a phone with Bezel. So there really is a market for this phone.

As usual, everyone have different views as we are all different. Let's respect each others' views and make a amicable community.

Apple Fan, 09 Apr 2020I don’t know why Apple company is this much greedy in terms... moreYou look up screen ppi density calculator. You really done don’t need FHD with a lot of these phone because the dimensions on the screen are already compact. Common mistake with people when they think that FHD is needed with small screen dimensions.

Plus your optically adjust so it’s just a consumer marketing tool in most phone applications.

This size is the best!! I always want a smartphone not that big!! Currently I'm using the s9+.. It's a great phone but sometimes it's too big!!

Apple Fan, 09 Apr 2020I don’t know why Apple company is this much greedy in terms... moreNot everyone wants a big phone. I know many people who won't upgrade from their older iPhones because the new ones are too big for them. This is the perfect size for many consumers who want a compact phone but don't have many options.

If that's it's design, I actually like it.
It has the apple uniqueness in a sea of copy pasted phones without any originality in their design.
I actually like a phone having bezels.

Come on man, not everyone wants to have one of those behemoth-phones like basically every other smartphone that came out this year. Size under 140mm is great and it is awesome to finally have an option that offers exactly that.
Also, the screen quality is fine. The most sold phone of last year, the iPhone XR, has the excact same ppi as this one. Same for the iPhone 11.

I don’t know why Apple company is this much greedy in terms of screen quality. It should better be FHD and included better PPI ,too .Furthermore, the size of the device is too little as today’s smartphones are intended not only for forwarding and receiving of merely a phone call but also for reading and watching media contents. Apple must work in these downsides.

When SE was released in early 2016, almost every other phone in the market got thick bezel. So with a up-to-date hardware specification that almost matches the premium 6S, it was pretty much a compact flagship.

But the situation is no longer the same for SE 2. If the rumors are real, than it's nothing more than a low end phone that succeeds iPhone 8. What's worse, at such a low price, you shouldn't expect Apple taking efforts to make it feel any good. Retaining the overall user experience of iPhone 8 would be my highest expectation. Keep in mind that the MSRP of SE was higher than that of 5S at the time. And the price of 5S reached the bottom long before that. Meanwhile iPhone 8 is still relatively expensive. I can't imagine the price will drop that much within half a year, yet SE 2 is still gonna receive some hardware upgrade. The quality has to be fairly poor.

I remember the price of SE droped 100 USD after just a month and that was when I bought it. I can only imagine the market for a small phone shrinks even more now. Besides, SE 2 isn't even small in any way, the dimensions are the same as S10e. So I don't get why people insist they particularly want phones with small screens when phones themselves aren't smaller. If iOS isn't a must, there are some other choices, like the 3.3" palm phone and 5" Xiaomi Duoqin 2 which is the smallest bezel-less phone. So it seems to me that the SE 2 would only work as a poor man‘s iPhone.

[deleted post]What you see is what you get dude, you either want it or you don't, no one is lying to you.

Now let me tell you that the guy that sell you cheap is not necessarily the good guy.

No phone is secure but when it comes to data security apple is a better choice because they sell phones not data, android is a data security train wreck, it's host, google, sells data for living and in the top of that phone manufacturers can add their own flavor of backdoors without any oversight of any kind.

This is going to be too small if you do a lot of internet, GPS and such and battery life is going to be rather short. It will be good for light users seeking the better security of iOS. The ideal simple phone from apple is the XR with superb battery life.
