Pathetic !! Who buys this shitty old design with such large bezels and old screen aspect ratio. They could rather have minimized bezel and provided a better screen to body ratio.

In india its effective cost is 38990 ... i think its a great value for money device ... ios experience is just amazing i am using iphone xs and i am going to have it for sure .. as my daily driver ... nd giving iphone xs to my sister

iPhon... moreThe iphone SE 2020 is more like a subsidized product, it's bigger brothers pay for the development and maintenance of the operating system, store, the r&d for future products etc.
Android OS development and maintenance costs and all other costs are payed by google search and ads, you see there's no apple search engine.
All of those companies that use android for free in their phones don't have to finance any of the costs regarding the development of android OS, you are for the most part paying for the cost of the hardware manufacturing.
It's not like apple doesn't have healthy margins, they do but their prices are not simply a cash grab as you are saying. That's simply uneducated to say.

i bought this as a second phone due to smashing my galaxy note 10+, i just wanted something small for hiking and tracking, taking the odd photos and not much else, in that respect it lives up to its purpose very well, bought on release day and fully aware of its limitations of which there are a LOT coming from an android phone, i have found the interface to be quick and fluid, although the screen touch tech seems off, it keeps missing my imput, not sure if there is a problem with my display or it is a problem with this model, the screen is small and dated, lacking any brightness outside, the battery is average, as long as I am using it for its intended purpose, it will get about 14hours straight usage, the processor i believe is underclocked, but boy does it get HOT when using even basic games, but those games are smooth, after coming from a big screen this thing is useless for anything, the single standout piece of this phone for me is the camera, and not the stock camera either, for anyone interested, i would highly recommend getting a camera app that supports RAW as apple block this by default in the stock camera app and settings, I use Moment and Halide, they take the above average camera to a different level, in basic jpeg this phone doesnt compete in the slightest with the best droids BUT it does produce better natural colours, but shooting in RAW it is far better then most other phones I have used, overall, its ideal as a second phone but not as a daily driver if you use it all the time

i think apple making this phone to save their ecosystem. because less and less more ppl buying their new phone. the reason is
1. their new phone getting more and more far away from "affordable" category.
2. people can get the same great feature on apple new phone from android phone
such as great camera, great performance, great battery life, and etc, at more decent
price. and free to choose what feature they need the most if on tight budget.
So many people still using old 6,7,8 iphone and use the phone for it basic necessity. it basically switch from primary gadget to secondary gadget that use for work only. when this old phone dies(supported by apple high cost aftersales service), the user may leave apple ecosystem. What happen next is like blackberry and windows phone.

And what for, you can get a redmi note 8 pro for half, it's fast enough to play all games and battery to go for hours, big full HD screen and has a 64 megapixel quad camera instead of a single 12 megapixel, 6gb ram, it even has a sd expansion slot that this SE lacks, not to say an IR Blaster to control your tv, air conditioner, etc. fast charger too. Again all for half the price. You heard me right.
The guy who comes here in good will replies: I only wanted a small and light phone that is comfortable to use. I will barely use it for two hours a day.

2) all companies get flawed products our or cheat somehow some time, all get sued, some they win some they lose, it's nothing special. This SE passed the bend test easy, companies learn to build things better overtime.
3) the essential phone had a pretty big bottom bezel and didn't have the 19.5 to 9 "tall" form factor so not the same thing, probably they copied the notch or probably not because it seems that apple's notch was in the works long time before with it's many sensors for face ID. in any case it was a terrible idea heavily criticized at the time but now is the "modern" smartphone design, people prefer a punch hole instead of a flawless display.
