I’ll possibly get an SE 4 and finally say farewell to the home button and Touch ID. I’ll guess I’ll get used to it and if not well I don’t really have a choice in the future.

    Michael McCarthy, 28 Dec 2024I’ll need to upgrade from my iPhone 8 Plus at some stage bu... morePlease don't even think about such "upgrade". I owned se 2022 for 2 months and then sold it, replaced battery in 8 plus and still using 8 plus now. So what I can say about se 2022.
    Pros:
    - works really fast;
    - latest updates for iOs, new functionalities for system and all aplle's apps, so for example, books app has new features I really liked;
    - better photo and video quality;
    - gps works faster and more accurate;
    - better gsm connection, for real. I have bad signal on subway with 8 plus. Se is better;
    - handy size, light weight.
    Cons:
    - terrible battery. 3,5 hours on cellular network, 4,5 hours on wifi. And I mostly use cellular so charging it twice a day, no heavy usage btw;
    - small screen gave me eye strain. Hard to read text. Because of small screen some apps are uncomfortable to use for example - navigation apps;
    - phone got heat;
    So stay with 8 plus, wait for SE 4.

      I’ll need to upgrade from my iPhone 8 Plus at some stage but if I get an SE like this one I’ll be downgrading the screen resolution and battery so I don’t know what I’m gonna do.

      I guess I’ll have to eventually get used to not having the home button and Touch ID when I get a new iPhone. I’ll probably also have to accept having a notch at the top of the screen unless Apple start using that under-screen camera tech which is possible because I think I read that they were looking at it and got patent/s for it.

        this phone genuinely is the worst phone you could get for the price

          Hi. I am currently using a Samsung a05s. I really like the apple font as well as the UI ? I think... that holds the visual of the phone. I also like appearance of emojis. It looks so clean to me. Now, I plan on using an iphone for my last phone that I will be using through college. I am heavily attracted to this phone for its size. I am not too keen on big phones and I don't really mind the camera. I think choosing this phone over something else is impractical, but I really like this one. Hope someone helps! I have been contemplating my choices on my own and it's not easy. Thanks.

                  I previously used iphone 13mini, I loved the design and the battery life but the camera wasn't good as it was supposed to be and I found it hard to use. That's why I was using an android phone as my main phone back then. But android phones are so hit and miss. Then I bought a 2nd gen se for about $100 and it was super easy to use. However with battery health already at 80% wasn't good enough as daily driver. Then I swapped out with brand new SE 3rd gen,
                  Battery is actually great. Camera is great enough and no glitches like lagging or overheating. It goes easy whole day and I do play game, check Facebook, regularly on internet and check many YouTube videos. Those days I don't watch YouTube videos it lasts 2 days.
                  All I did when I set it up were to turn optimised battery charging on, close all apps when not in use and leave the blightness about 70%.
                  Battery health is still at 100% after 7 months.

                          Obvious enough where the money was saved. That’s why this phone is irrelevant today, while the iPhone SE 2022 is not.

                            why a budget phone should have bad battery
                            this is dumb and inacceptable for a phone in 2024
                            they need to make iphone se at least 6 inch and with at least 4000mah battery and for shipset its ok to put older ones

                              The iPhone 8 Plus is also 7 years old now but it’s still a good phone.

                                    Camera on SE 2022 has same quality as the 13 but lacking night mode. HDR 4 which is unique compared to iphone 8 with the old HDR. Battery is very efficient due to 5nm processor, iOS 18, extra 2GB Ram for multitasking and photograpic styles with portrait.

                                        After 2 years of owning this phone, the battery health has seen better days, it’s now at 78% battery health, I will upgrade from this to an iPhone 15. But it generally served me well minus the battery.
