Only maker I can think of is Vertu, but those phones cost way more. Titanium on the Essential Phone is infamous for scratching issues, alongside other problems like no waterproofing and pre-order customers getting their data leaked.

[deleted post]Not exactly, as I'm sure you know Android and I.O.S are two completely different operating systems. That's the bit people tend to ignore when they get all fanboy on both sides and start claiming their preferred device is the best.
Apple competes against itself really, whereas there are many different manufacturers that use Android as their platform.
Now you could argue that Android users have greater flexibility and choice and I would be right behind you, but just spouting out things like you have done makes no real sense to me and comes across as yet just another one of those fanboy posts I have to trawl through.

If you have not done so already it's well worth really taking time out to look at the differences before buying especially considering the price that you are going to be paying.
For example, if you have not done so already it's worth reading some of the smaller print
E.G

I phone X is Super AMOLED as opposed to LED-backlit IPS LCD..... look at the resolution, contrast etc
In short the X has the better screen but it has the notch too, personally I don't like the notch but hey it's not about me. ..

Personally I like the latest trend of 19.5:9 ratio (X) and the 18.5:9 (e.g Galaxy S8) but it comes at a price e.g Videos are stretched or to see the videos as intended you will have to put up with black bars either side of the video you are watching and in doing so you don't make use of the full screen. Also you may want to take the 'notch' into consideration too.
The IPhone 8 plus offers the more traditional 16:9 ratio, but its all about preference and I would advise that you check the phones out in person if the screen is the big deal breaker for you.
Everyone has an opinion but there is only one opinion that matters and that is yours.

The fact is whether you choose a top brand android flagship or the latest IPhone you will have a great user experience. The truth is also that the average user of whatever you decide to use, whether it be Apple or Android will not notice the slight differences that geeky people argue about as regards to 'testing' ..... the differences are that small.
I struggle to understand this endless battle between Android fanboys and Apple fanboys. It's quite mindnumbing and b.o.r.i.n.g really.
What does this all achieve?

I was not happy with the performance and battery compared to my iphone. In android, you will never get half day battery life if you switch on push notification, location services, and mobile data.
