Why have a notch at all? With such wide bezels, the sensors in the notch would actually all fit within the top bezel (measured them). Is the notch a signature design element now?

People complaining bout the iphone xr its got the same a12 chip as iphone xs xs max but the phone as some cheaper parts like the 8 and plus last year had the a11 chip like the iphone x

Went to see the screen for myself today. For an LCD panel the colors look really good and the pixel density is just fine for regular usage. I put them side-by-side with the XS and I barely noticed any difference, honestly. The bezels are almost twice as thick on the XR compared to the XS but you don't notice it actively unless you're comparing the two phones side by side.

It's not normal that 120€ phones can give you a wider screen in the same device's width?
Hey wake up, you will pay 859€, be demanding about all aspects, not only about soc.
You will (nearly) never use his full power but you will often take the device in your hand or look at your screen.

Whether it's a premium phone or a mid range phone or a economy grade phone, how does bezel less matter?
In short apart from aesthetics, what other things improve due to bezel less screens?

Even mid-range soc gives pleasant experience.
Remember that a web page will fit to the width or your screen, not to the diagonale. Diagonale is marketing.
A 5.5" 8 Plus is easier to read than a X.
The width of the screen makes your phone easier to read.
The width of your device makes if easier to handle.
Up and down bezels don't change anything.
It's matter of compromise between easy to read and easy to handle
Side bezels are importants, the smaller they are, the less the compromise is.
If you bring your device to standard 16/9 ratio,
In 75.7mm, Phone Xr offers you a screen as wide as a 5.2" 16/9
In the same width, most devices offers you screens as wide as a 5.5" 16/9 (case of 6" 18/9 and 6.2" 19/9)...as easy to handle, easier to read.

Nro, 23 Oct 2018Better go with " iPhone X "..... The reason is same price ,... moreI have the X and yes its a cracking phone, but its got poor batter life and its a smaller screen and to be fair Apples LCD screens are very nice, ok the colours are not and deeps, but still looks good.
