Both are oled and the ppi on both screens are almost identical even if the xs max is bigger. Maybe that’s what the other person meant, they probably prefer the bigger screen. So to them it is better.

I have used android since the iPhone 4S and the XS Max seems to be better than even the 11 and 12 considering the display is better and it actually has 3D touch (which I've always loved). But, due to the fact that it uses a lightning connector, I will forego the direct wire and just use my 30w wireless charger since it only goes to 15w on iPhone. But looking forward to playing with it
