Even going used, the iPhone offers those most value in terms of specs to dollars. If you want something more up to date that guarantees you further support in the future, go with the iPhone 11. While you do give up a much better display you get the A13 and better camera specs. Both devices have 4GBs of Ram so you should be fine with picking either or. My advice is to go with the iPhone XS Max. Go to Swappa and pick yourself a mint condition phone, it we be less than the $500 price tag the iPhone 11 carries.

256 GB and it's still amazing especially with IOS 15

Just bought the phone secondhand few days ago. This is definitely still a beast in 2021. Gaming quite smooth and display is awesome. Only the battery is a bit worst but powerbank can solve it. Overall, xs max is still worth in 2021.

Personally, the 13 pro max definitely has some good benefits that it's hard to disappoint, but not that different from the 12 pro max, unless you have the xs max to actually make a good choice to upgrade to a 13 pro max, even though it's still the same as the 12

Just bought it few days ago, so far solid performer even in 2021 with latest update ios 15. Here few cons that i found
1. Front camera is average not the best
2. Battery life is average also, can last until end of day but barely
Other than that the performance and everything is solid, with the current drop price i think it is still worth it.

Bought mine at 2019 the XS Max, on latest IOS 15.0.2, battery since 2019 at 82%, when i use it in public it stand out from other iphone user who always go for pro max or pro as the 11/12/13 pro looks the same
when paired xs max with watch nike 5 series felt even premium
also the the design and size is timeless like the iphone 7 plus
the phone will last for more than 6 years in my opinion, my iphone 6 still last to this day……
