Cook will make apple, 26 Sep 2018Jobs era: at the cost of purchasing only the best supplier ... moreLOL why do people keep repeating how it was different during Jobs? The first iPhone didn't even have GPS or 3G, not to mention iOS was even much more crippled for years. And iPhones were behind the competition even at CPUs.

It's always been "less for more" with iPhones and Apple. Well, in the last 10 years or so, at least.

Upon further investigation of my iPhone XS MAX issue where my side of conversation is cutting in and out or completely disappearing in congested areas or low signal buildings,
I found out that new iPhones have lower RF output according to FCC testing.
It’s is obvious now that bad antenna or bad firmware that controls the antenna has been put in latest iPhones.

The intel’s modem Speeds are great, however. I get consistently 1.3 - 1.4 times faster Average download speeds comparing to my Qalcomm version of iPhone 7plus.
Galaxy note 8 is also 1.3-1.4 times faster download speeds comparing to 7plus.

Anonymous, 25 Sep 2018I’m using the iPhone XS MAX since and already see the resul... moreI’m facing the same problem with my XS that I received yesterday.
At home , where my T-Mobile signal strength is 40%-45% and at one fast food restaurant where the signal is about the same. I never had any issues with calls whe used my iPhone 8plus at the same places with the same medium signal strength. Now people tell me that they can’t hear me sometimes.

How did I measure the signal strength in these buildings ?
Obviously with my friend’s android phone since IOS doesn’t let users
to read the actual signal strength.

Anonymous, 25 Sep 2018Does it takes 3 hours for the battery to fully charge this ... more1) Yes it does! Because the phone still comes with a slow charger.
For me that’s not really an issue since the most important thing is that it does charges fast with a fast charging portable battery ( aka power bank ). Who cares if it takes 3 hours to charge when you are sleeping.

                          2) The most important flow of this phone is its modem or antenna!
On one side the phone’s modem ( Intel modem ) is faster than Qualcomm modem in iPhone 7 Plus (this phone and galaxy note 8 phone produce download speeds 1.3 times faster than Qualcomm version of iPhone 7 Plus). Also this phone and galaxy note 8 phone , both catch LTE signal faster than Qualcomm versions of iPhone 7plus and 8 Plus when you go from no signal to signal zone.
                          2) on the other side in congested areas or in low signal buildings the call is cutting in and out
( you can hear people but they complaint that your side is cutting in and out ) comparing to previous iPhones with Qualcomm modems. My friend has 7 Plus previous with Intel modem has the same issue as this Intel Xs max phone.

[deleted post]LOL of course i haven't tried an iPhone. Do i need to taste s**t to know that i definitely won't like it (Although there are people who do...just like some people like iPhones..)? The truth is not only i wouldn't buy it at a mid-range price, i'd refuse to use it even if THEY paid me the price it costs to use it with no option to use Android phone.

And no, i don't praise any android brand. In fact, i don't like any of them and the reason is exactly because they all are blind Apple followers who can't stop thinking of ways to cripple their phones. Still, with more efforts, you could still buy a decent Android phone and the OS, of course, is another major advantage.

I’m using the iPhone XS MAX since and already see the results of Apple using Intel modem in it (yes the unlocked version of iPhone now using the intel modem as well and it’s been verified ! ).

In Times Square (Highly congested area) and in a couple of low signal buildings my side of the call is cutting in and out. When I used iphone 7plus with Qualcomm modem in it, there never been such issues in the same places. It’s really a shame because download speeds of this modem are are 1.3 times faster than previous modems but in low signal or congested areas it’s behind slower Qualcomm modem.

[deleted post]Things have to be different for people to compare them.

[deleted post]What a ridiculous statement. Thinking someone buys an android device because they can't afford and iPhone. Android and iOS are different but to say the devices can't be compared is fanboy swill. Android devices are now at the level of iPhone's in UI functionality and performance. Your glorious iPhone isn't any faster nor is it more efficient. Apple has done a miserable job with Core Architecture on the Bionic Chipsets. They overheat, have to throttle back after a few minutes use and need to close background apps due to poor RAM Management. When features are compared, top shelf android devices put iPhones best to shame. Apple has been attempting to play catch up with AMLOD Immersive Displays, Wireless Charging, Battery Capacity, Memory Capacity, Dual SIMS and Camera Functionality. What truly sets top shelf android devices apart is VALUE. The Galaxy S9 Plus is butter smooth, has more features at half the price of Apple's XS Max. Anyone with just two brain cells to rub together will throw rocks at the over priced and over rated iPhones! If you want to fill Tim Cook's pockets be my guest but you'll be stuck with a butt ugly notch on a phone that's trying to catch up!
