Apple now assembling iPhone 16 series in India

Apple has officially started assembling the entire iPhone 16 series in India. This includes the two Pro series iPhones which is the first time Apple is manufacturing its top-tier flagships outside of China. The move is part of Apple's continued push to diversify its production chain away from China.

The made-in-India iPhone 16 series phones will be available in India later this month and will also be exported to select countries around the world. In addition, Apple is planning to open 4 new Apple stores in Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi, and Mumbai. These new stores will join the existing locations in Delhi and Mumbai which opened in April 2023.

Most people do not get that it says "assembled". So any quality issues in the components are originating in the factories in China. The only things that could be different are sealing or connection between components.

Ah, Estonia. I must visit that country sometimes. I like lakes.
