Apple Watch Series X might use thinner motherboard material

Last year, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the Apple iPhone 17 Pro coming in 2025 could use a resin-coated copper (RCC) mainboard. Now Digitimes, citing its supply chain sources, claims that at least one next-gen Apple Watch might also use an RCC material motherboard.

The RCC material uses a thin film of copper coated in resin, making the motherboard's overall design thinner. This should leave more room for other components in a watch, including a bigger battery.

Apple Watch Series 9

Since the Apple Watch X is expected to come with a design overhaul, we could see Apple using an RCC motherboard for the Watch X. However, whether it arrives in 2024 or 2025 remains to be seen.

yeah new Apple Watch x if it don’t have any problems with it at all Apple Watch series 9 an Ultra Apple Watch has problems with it to that’s why they going to stop selling both of them only one didn’t have no problems is Apple Watch SE 2nd gen for it...

...You forgot the 'tiny' protrusion... But I agree that 15.5 or 14.5mm will feel just as oversized two watches thick. On the other hand if a watch sized 7mm went 6mm, it certainly would be noticeable.
