Apple Watch Ultra is compatible with 45mm Watch bands
Apple unveiled three new smartwatches at its Far Out event yesterday - the new Watch SE, Watch Series 8, and Watch Ultra. Alongside these, Apple also announced new straps for the Ultra model - Trail Loop, Alpine Loop, and Ocean Band.
Apple Watch UltraWith a case size of 49mm, the Apple Watch Ultra is the biggest smartwatch yet from the Cupertino-based tech giant. But that doesn't mean the three bands mentioned above can't be used with some older Apple Watches since Apple says they are also compatible with Apple Watches of 44mm and 45mm case sizes. Since there's no mention of smaller case sizes, it's safe to assume the 49mm bands for the Watch Ultra aren't compatible with them.

That said, if you have a 45mm band meant for the non-Ultra model, you can use it with the Apple Watch Ultra since Apple says the 45mm straps work with 42mm, 44mm, and 49mm cases.

I just bought the series 7 so dont see any reason to get the 8 but the ultra is compelling. Titanium versions were always $800. So maybe i have a reason to try it now.
