Asus 8z finally arriving in India on February 28

Yordan, 25 February 2022

Asus introduced the Zenfone 8 series back in May 2021 and it planned to bring them to India shortly after that, but then it reconsidered because of a COVID-19 related lockdown. The company promised the Snapdragon 888-powered phones will arrive soon and the time has apparently come. Now 9 and a half months later may not be what most people will call "soon," fewer still when talking about smartphones, but the Zenfone 8 is finally hitting India as Asus 8z.

The phone was teased on the company’s Twitter page, and the launch is scheduled for February 28 at 12PM local time.

The Asus 8z is a compact mobile phone with two cameras, 5.9” AMOLED screen and a 4,000 mAh battery. Back when we reviewed it, we barely found any issues with the 2021 flagship - it does come with an excellent screen, battery, photo and video performance.

There is no word from Asus India whether the Zenfone 8 Flip will appear alongside its diminutive sibling. It does have a triple camera, mounted onto a moving mechanism, but we established that aside from the innovative form factor, it is not as intriguing as it should be, and the Asus Zenfone 8 (aka Asus 8z) is clearly the better positioned phone. We are not so sure that applies a year later, but much will depend on the pricing of the 8z.

Where is the 16GB RAM, 256GB variant? Why does ASUS have such a bad team? I want to fund these guys from Taiwan so that they can stand upto China when the day comes but they simply refuse to take my money with such mismanagement. God bless Taiwan.
