I used this asus fonepad for 10 months. Until now, not so much lag, sometimes smooth. Just use fonepad for social networking, not hard gaming.

I've had the battery problem where the fonepad won't take a charge. Connecting the charger just gives empty battery symbol and starts over again and again. No suggested fixes has worked but here is my solution:
            1. Open the back of the fonepad.
            2. Disconnect the battery.
            3. Stick two needles into the second outer holes on the battery connector. The one FROM the battery.
            4. Hook up two AA batteries in series (+ to -).
            5. On the battery connector there should be two red wires and two black wires.
            6. Connect the AA's to the needles with the negative(-) to the black side and the positive(+) to the red side.
            7. Leave it for five minutes but put your finger on the battery and disconnect if it gets hot. Mine didn't get warm.
            8. Remove needles, AA's and reconnect the battery.
            9. Connect charger.
This worked for me. The theory goes that the battery is to drained to recharge, LiPo's are like that. This LiPo needs 4.3v charging but a pair of AA's are only 3.5v. They add just enough power to let the battery charge again.

I've had mine since jan and though kinda outdated compared to my nexus its good, can play huge games like dead trigger and FIFA14 which are over 1GB smoothly, you get lags as it opens but after few seconds its hardcore, very good for the money. Buy if you want to, its good on performance

Mine is very good. With wifi on, talking and listening music and with full brightness im getting 22 hrs backup period. When im using the phone with wifi and playing online games and other stuffs i get 10 hrs backup period. If i watch movie and do gaming and chatting and all other then im getting 5 to 6 hrs backup time. Its handy and call clarity is too good. Worth for its money. But dont install live wallpapers cuz it just drains ur power. Camera clarity is good for a 5 mp cam and front cam is also good.

at least you had 3 months, i had around a week... after giving it back to the store for a month for repair it's fine.. some online solutions were to remove and place back the battery.. ( you could do so by opening the back using a thin card)

(Please don't compare the rate of the issue for each brand, fanboy/hater are plenty, who trying to protect or bashing certain brand)

My Fonepad just working fine after 1 year. Everything just work. Probably if want the tablet work smoother, just don't put any extra widget on home screen, which will free up CPU and RAM load. (This term happen on all android device too)

Good reviews and I was hooked. Wrong. Tab swallowed my mini sd card and now it is lodged somewhere in my tab. C
mon Asus. Also charging time sucks. I've only had the tab for 3 days. Paper weight product moving back to Apple.
