My Nexus 7 is currently running 4.2.2. I'm pretty sure Google released the update for the 7 a few weeks ago, that needs to be changed.

The Nexus 7 is honestly the only tablet I have ever used. And I do not regret my decision to get the 32GB WiFi version at all. With a screen protector and an OTG keyboard and XBOX 360 controller, along with my kernel (not public yet) and PA, this tablet can beat the crap out of even the Nexus 10 in terms of portability, functionality and durability. Best money can buy, honestly.

Satisfied with the nexus 7....cheap price and worthy to grab, Asus+nvidia sure hell awesome graphic effect, less charging more hours using(adorable tablet charging with ASUS logo)...JB 4.2.2 with no lag and multitasking 2GB uncompress + 5 tab of surfing using chrome + 1GB download...28GB full of game install and heavy application and 600mb RAM free...I won't regret with my beloved nexus7!

There is this cheaper tablet called the Zeki. Sure it lacks the top notch resolution but has a dual core 1.5 processor, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. It even has a microsd card slot that supports up to 32 GB!
Downside is that Google Play is not installed and it won't let you sideload it. There is a way to root it, however...then using root explorer, it can be pushed to the system/app.
