Can you please try to charge your unit for about 1 hour using its original charger, then after 1 hour, try to power-on the device while its still charging. But if you already done this part, have you tried to replace your charger at least branded charger (Samsung, apple, etc.) and not just cheap charger. Because cheap charger don't have auto power-cut when unit is in full battery charged. I am sorry for asking too much but who knows maybe this works. :) Let me know what is the status after this. Thanks!

        I have had a Nexus 7 for many years. My first one fell and the screen broke. I bought a new refurbished one that has been working fine for about 1 1/2 yrs. Today, it was out of battery, I set it to charge and now it doesn't want to turn on. I press the on/off button for a few seconds, a black screen that says Google and a lock comes up. I try to unlock the lock by swiping it but no luck, a white led light comes up and then the screen goes into stand by mode. What can I do? How can I turn it on? How can I unlock the lock?

          ok, based on the previous review about updating the OS, From Jelly Bean to;
          KitKat (4.4–4.4.4, 4.4W–4.4W.2)
          Lollipop (5.0–5.1.1)
          Marshmallow (6.0–6.0.1)
          some are good and negative feedback. I guest i'll stay in Jelly Bean for now. Because, I am not encountering any problem or issues in battery life, GPS, or any sensors. :)

          For Jelly Bean feedback from me, it is good, battery life is good, other features are functioning well. Sounds is good. I got 1 heavy graphics game (World Of Tanks Blitz) and 1 medium graphics game (Super Robot Wars). :)

            I am now, thinking to upgrade this unit (ASUS NEXUS 7 2nd gen 16GB wi-fi) from Jelly bean to KitKat. Any comments about this part? Is it worth it to upgrade to KitKat? Any issues? thanks!

                      well, now it turned on. lucky me. :) but I didn't check carefully what I've ordered.. I thought this is Wi-Fi + Cellular. It's only Wi-Fi.. now my problem is, how can I sneak this in to my office where Wi-Fi tablet is prohibited. Only WiFi + cellular are allowed. hu-hu-hu. I will test now my games World Of Tanks Blitz! and Super Robot Wars (GUNDAM)! YooHooo!

                        Today I got my ordered ASUS NEXUS 7" 16GB Wi-Fi, first, excited, 2nd, worried. Unit is not powering on even I press the power button more than 1minute. So what I did is, I plugged in the charger to the unit and saw a blinking white LED on top of the micro UBS port. It blinks 3-4 times then nothing.. I tried to power it on and do the same procedure unfortunately it still not turning on. Now, I am searching for other user opinion about this.. Right now I am charging my unit for about 30 minutes.. I will wait till it gets 60 minutes.. hopefully it turn on.. :S

I bought my Nexus 7 (2013) tablet new in the box from a local retailer. I have gotten every single Android update including Marshmallow 6.0 + the latest update which came out before Christmas which is Marshmallow 6.1. You should be getting these updates right from Google since your using an official device. People are completely wrong about this equipment not being able to run the latest Android OS Updates as Google claims the 2013 version of the Nexus 7 will accept their OS Updates for several more year's and maybe even longer. I would contact Google of you continue to have to sideload updates. Everything works perfectly fine for me, running Marshmallow 6.1.

                            When bought (Nexus 7 II 16GB WiFi), I was happy with it. But after some time, accelerometer and gyroscope passed away and later on it exited entirely (fortunately data backuped). Now I moved to cheaper K007 and all's fine so far (about half a year).

                              Since flashing to Marshmallow I also have rotation issues, also had to reset it a couple of times due to bootloop - stuck on logo/app optimisation. Its an old tablet now - these new updates are no longer designed for these models!

                                It seems there's a bug in that if you have disabled ANY Google apps prior to the update, you'll end up stuck in a boot loop.
