it eats a lot of your internal memory..because of this, you wont be able to update some of your apps because it prompts the user "insufficient internal memory".. :(

5.0 Sucks... Slower, less app compatibility and it eats a lot of space in the internal memory. I hope they will allow us to transfer large app data to the external memory.

The specs listed here are for the first, limited-edition release of the tablet; after the reviews were in, Asus went to a cheaper version - the ME176CX - which has only a 2MP camera on the back (the main camera) and a VGA for selfies. There's also no metal banding around the edge. I don't know if there are any other differences but the camera issue really disappoints, so if you're considering getting one of these, check your source to see if it really IS an ME176C or CX. I was also disappointed to learn the blue version is only sold through one distributor (Newegg? Maybe that's changed now that it's been in circulation and the newness has worn off). And now that I have it "loaded" and have been using it awhile, I always seem to have to hold down the power button for awhile and re-power it off/on in order for it to come back to life after it's been charging awhile. It was 'snappy' at first when there wasn't much on it, but like all things in middle age it gets creaky and quirky with experience.

After a series of updates my battery started to drain very fast in standby/idle, about in 12h drained 50%. I read some advices here and I factory reset the tab 3 times. Now my battery drains in standby drains 1%/h in ultra power saving mode. so i think its an improvement.

Battery life issues are very common for this model. ASUS insists they are not, but I returned 3 of them for that kind of problem. Comparing this to a Nexus 7 2013, left idle overnight starting with 100% battery, the ASUS ended at 46% the Nexus at 88%.

2 issues with my Memo Pad 7 ME176C.
1. The smart cover keeps turning the screen off when flipped and touching the back of the tablet.
2.The battery says it has a lot of charge then all of sudden shuts down and has completely discharged. This has happened 2 times so far in the last month or so.

My tab was initially draining fast. I updated my tab and it solved my problem (battery problem when idle). My tab is draining 2-5% overnight. Is it good?. You can use this tablet for as long as 7 hours and 30 mins without stopping (watching movies, browsing). But when u play light games it will drain quite fast. When u play heavy games it will surely drain your battery faster. So it really depends on how you use your tablet. For those having battery problem, would you mind telling use what were u doing when u noticed it was draining fast (idle or not)? I hope this could help to gather information for others to learn from. Thanks!

There is only one way to get rid off the draining battery while idle problem. Root the tablet, update it and install deep sleep battery saver and choose slumberer profile. Hope that helps, it did for me.

rachell, 20 Jan 2015biggest problem is can't transfer contents or apps file to ... moreYou have to update your tablet in order to transfer apps from internal to sd card :). keep checking if there is an update. i updated my tab five times. just keep updating until your tablet allows you to see the option to move your apps. just go to asus customized setting and look for the preferred installation.

biggest problem is can't transfer contents or apps file to sd card. it says 8GB of memory but you can only use 4GB after u install your desired games nones much left, tried searching on ways to move apps to sd card but this type of tablet does not have that capacity unlike samsung tab.too bad i bought a 16gb sd card. it does not even have the option to change default storage memory when installing apps.

IMPRESSED and it appears to be the BEST and compares very well with "top" ranges. Memo pad 7 is going to damage them on sales and popularity. Maybe prices will drop on expensive products.
