Rusydi Umar, 13 Jul 2008Is it available in Hyderabad? If it is, where can i find it... moreRusydi, Both P320 and P527 are excellent models. I own the P527, and used a friend's P320 for about a week. I paid 15K for my P527 (in India), and someone reported in a recent post that the P320 is now available for as low as 11.5K.
Besides the physical differences in size and weight due to the extra keypad in P527, here are the main differences in both models:
- The P320 comes with WM6.1 while the P527 comes only with WM6 - this is a minor point, since you could manually upgrade the latter to a WM6.1 ROM, and ASUS is also expected to release an official upgrade soon. The P320 also includes a few additional softwares like the new ASUS Home Screen, Ur Time and MS Office OneNote Mobile, which may or may not be available in the ASUS official upgrade.
- Even though both phones include the same internal GPS chipset, the P527 comes with a full-feature navigation software on a free 1GB MicroSD Card - the P320 lacks this, and you will have to obtain it separately.
- The P320 doesn't have an FM Radio (there is one in the P527, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet, so don't know if it is any good).

Murali, 14 Jul 2008Hi Anand,
Congrats on ur buy. You seem very happy with i... moreHi Murali, I've never used an HP made WinMo, so I'm just comparing the phones based on the specs which I found on the web.
Because of its number keypad, the iPaq looks a lot more like the ASUS P527, but the biggest drawback apparent immediately is the iPaq's small screen size - only 2" compared to 2.6" on the ASUS models (the current industry standard is already 2.8").
The P320 and the iPaq share the same processor and memory sizes, so their performances should be comparable. The only other major hardware difference would be the Camera sensor (2MP in P320, 1.3MP in iPaq).
In terms of software, the iPaq only comes with WM6 Standard, while P320 comes with WM6.1 Professional, although you may be able to find a ROM suitable enough to negate this factor.
Then comes the GPS! Honestly speaking, I wasn't even looking for a phone with a GPS when I started looking recently. But then, if you can get one for this price, then why not get it! Many GPS navigation units actually cost around the same price as the P320, and it is indeed a great tool (and a toy too) once you actually start using it.
Not sure what the price of the iPaq is, but unless it is a lot less than the P320, I would probably go for ASUS rather than HP in this case.

This is from my 24hr experience of P320.
I ... moreHi Anand,
Congrats on ur buy. You seem very happy with it.
I'd recently lost my Imate SP5M, and am looking for a new WinMo phone. Given my budget, My 2 options seemed to be
1. HP IpaQ 512
2. ASUS P320
I'm impressed by both and I also notice that P320 has a GPS feature, but is more expensive than the HP.
Could you please let me know your suggestions in this comparison and also let me know where u bough ur phone and how much it cost you.
Thanks a ton,
Murali
ps.: I'm eager to hear back from everyone else, including prasanth :)

Dear folks,
This is from my 24hr experience of P320.
I am impressed by the phones performance.
1) Wifi - great, IE is pathetic though. Use opera, there is hell lot of difference.
2) Divx - great, installed core player and used.
3)Speaker phone - above average.
4) Camera - bit slow while start up. But I am ok with that. Since I use better equipments for photography.
Am yet to check battery and other parts. if u guys need any help, shoot i am here.
One more thing, use MS Outlook to backup ur old phone's contacts. Then move those to p320 in say 2mins :)

Anand, 12 Jul 2008Hi friends, I am interested in this mobile. Have two doubts... moreI have previously used a 4GB MicroSD card with the P320 - not sure if you can go up to 8GB too. The battery life was surprisingly good! The only time when the battery drains fast is when using the GPS - then I saw battery being used at about 15-20% per hour.
