I presently own a SE P910i and was going to upgrade to a SE P990i. But after reading about the Asus P525, I am confused and undecided on which to buy. Help if any of you have owned a P990i and know the comparison.

Hi all,
For you who own P525, does it has GPS?
What is the functionality/use of GPRS?
Is US $586 in Saudi Arabia too expensive?
Do you know of another dealer in Dhahran or Dammam or even Bahrain who could sell it for cheaper?

Greetings! I finally have my Asus P525 and I am very satisfied with it. By the way, what new firmware are you talking about? I visited the Asus support website and so far there is non that is new, except for the russian manual. Would you be kind enough to let me know, tnx!

Uma, if you can hold off for a couple of months you might consider getting the new I-Mate 8150. I love my p525, but if this 8150 is released before the end of the year, i am selling my p525 right away.. The form factor is awesome, windows mobile 6.. the specs are much better than the Asus p526 aka Pegasus.

hello everyone ,
by just saying omg this is an awesome phone doesnt make it anything clear to you so i shall make it more clear to you as to how this phone is one gem of a gadget.... its got everything you ever wanted !!!(in a phone of course)
windows mobile 5.0 (which lets you do anything that ur computing system would . only on a minor scale)
,a superb camera (which is very difficult to find in pocket pc phones including auto focus and a very strong flash light)
one gb free memory card which lets u store all your music, videos and pictures....
the screen can rotate all 3 sides for better viewing and handling
its got skyype which lets you connect to anyone in the world for free if they have the same software on their computers or phones (trust me ihve tried it and its the voice quality is crystal clear)
now why should u buy this over other ppcs?
because its got a keypad which does not frustate you while typing messages in a moving car or in an unstable condition
even the stylus is a piece of art made of solid lead gives an amazing feel and not at all plasticky
and its way better than qwerty keyboard phones which become very heavy and are not as easy to use
the build quality of the asus p525 is very good
i have used no external covers on my fone for 3 months now and there is not even one scratch on it (touch wood)
its got a "mysecrets" function which is very helpful guys to store all ur secret piks videos and watever ;-)
you can download various awesome themes for it from littlethemes.com and various games and software for tucows.com
its got msn messenger and its internet explorer is also very quick
hence all in all its a fabulous phone to have
i researched for around 2 months before i finally bought it and trust me it was all worth it
its much cheaper than a than qwerty fones or any other ppc for 500 $ .
its cheaper in bangkok than in singapore
i bought mine from pantip plaza for 19900 thb they bloody dunt give u a discount though,
and the same ws for around 100 us$ more in singapore
ihve even uploaded a video review for u guys to see the camera quality and stuff

my dad got this and it busted in a couple of weeks. The screen kept realigning so the stylus couldnt accurately touch the system. Maybe a firmware.

Great to hear that, I'm just to about to buy a P525 but the P526 will be released in 2008. I should buy the p525 now and consider just replacing it in a few years.
Nice phone but why no flash??? and kinda weak speakers I think just like in the P535.

ASUS P526 is now official
the specification really rocks! with OS WM6
no 3g, but who cares about 3g!
4g comming soon...
by the way! Windows Mobile 7
will be out on "2008" x-P

I have been using this handset for about 2 weeks now... I absolutely love it... great design great feature set. This phone seems to have a problem with rogers voicemail notification, VM notify causes last txt msg to repeat 3 times. I really don't care this phone is awesome.

1. 3G or not will you use 3G in you country?
2. Is 3G worth it for your lifestyle?
3. Price/Features comparison against other brands?
4. Advantages / Disadvantages of P525.
For me I am about to buy the P525 in 2 weeks, after canvansing for more than a month I have compared the O2 stealth against the p525. and in terms of features the P525 wins against camera and processing speed. but in look I like the black color of the O2 stealth, and the stealth has 802.11b/g wifi not like the P525 only 802.11b
54mbps wifi for O2 against the 11mbps of the P525.
but the P525 wins in bluetooth features which has v2.0 not like the O2 that has only v1.2.

crk, dont be ideotic to try to install wm6 on ur p525.
REASON is you will kill your p525.
wm6 that been released is for htc pdas not asus.
so no conpatible drivers and no compatible camera software .....
so wm6 must be released from asus or from crazy high level software guru.

about the ringtone volume issue ive tried using the downloaded ringtone from my n73 to p525 its much louder louder than the preset tones in p525. try to convert mp3 files to 320kbps then set it as ringtone to ure p525 then probably its much more louder.

good day everybody! is p525 compatible with wm6 crossbow? can i change wm5 to wm6? have downloaded the program but havent installed it. thanks

Yeah I have used the P525 before from my friends but not in a whole day, I didn't get a chance to experience the ringtones if you are doing your regular daytime activities.
I'm sorry if I always ask questions, It's just I'm very exited about my P525.
