Does P 527 support Java games.
I have tried a number of games which work fine on other Windows based mobiles but doesnt work on dis one .....

Copy the picture to S2U2 images directory and set the wallpaper throu
programs>s2u2>s2u2 settings>wallpaper

What you will achive is the picture you want will be displayed on the background when phone is locked & you have Iphone like unlock feature.

When unlocked, you will see normal windows today programs.

If you'd like to see only a picture on the home screen, you can disable all the apps by going to Start -> Settings -> Personal tab -> Today -> Items tab and unchecking all the items in the list. Of course, to see them again you do the reverse, which is a pretty tedious process.

thanks dear.. My Nokia 6670 had more than 1000 multiple contacts. I giess P527 should be able to store more than that. Nokia E51 has in device search. As i said, look/search for a word and it will list down anywhere in the phone. I think Total Comandar is a file search program. thanks a lot for your feedback. may bother again.. :-)

Other way is:
Programs>Pictures & Videos>Browse & select the picture you want to use>Click Menu>Select Set as todays background>choose the transperancy level>click ok

This model is not 3G enabled.

1. To send file via bluetooth, first associate other bluetooth device with this
(you may refer to user guide page 63)
by enabling bluetooth(setting>connections>Bluetooth>mode)
select turn on bluetooh and make this device visible to others.
Choose a shared passcode for security.

Once both devices are visible to each other

2. Open file explorer (programs>file exploerer), browse to the file folder you wish to send.

3. select the file you wish to send, click on menu, select beam file

4.Select the associated other bluetooth device where you want send the file.

5. On other device, you will see a pop up of file transfer (it may prompt to say yes/no)

Box also came with Satguide license.

May be the seller where you have purchased the mobile or ASUS may help.

Note: Satguide application is not from ASUS.

1 .I have not used in device search on windows mobile.
have not seen any such a default program in WM builds.
There may be a program(free/paid) that can be installed.

2.Max no of contacts - do not think if there is any limitation
Unless you store the contacts in SIM memory.

3.I do not have any issues with the keypad & happy with it.
Except, not able to use the alphabets while sending email.
Using the soft keyboard.

4.Does not have native notepad
It has office mobile (excel, word, one note, power point)
also has notes program.

Hi guys, planning to go to P527. From all of your views seems that its a good buy.
A few Q.
1. Does it have a "in-device serach". U look for a word and it would list it mentioned anywehre in the phone. Be it Contacts, Word, Excel, etc.
2. Max. no. of contacts it can store. approx. no.
3. Pro keypad user, heard the keys are hard to press?
4. does it have Noteapd?

Note: Battery gets drained quicker than normal.

Traditionally there used to be dialup program on win 5.x builds (Once enabled on PPC, setup a dialup client on PC/Laptop & dial no *99#)

It has been replaced by Internet connection sharing program in 6.x builds
Programs>Internet connection sharing

Does not need any special configuration on PC/Laptop.

Just enable the internet connection sharing on with GPRS/Edge service enabled PPC with the right connection type(USB/Bluetooth...etc)that is used for connecting the PPC to PC/Laptop.

Then say connect.
On successful conection PC/Laptop gets a private IP(192.168.0.x)from PPC and you are ready to go.

can the speed of the system be increased....i use my 527 extensively on wifi and it gets somewhat slow sometimes i just want to know any free software to increase the proccessor and the ram speed.....
