My problem got rectified after I did a hard reset. I didnot backup any of my emails this time; I selected only PIM data & My Documents. So I can access my text messages now, but lost the old ones in the process.

I have one question though: Does the Backup program also backup text messages under the "Email" option? How do people normally backup their SMSs before attempting a hard reset?

    Hey Prashant,

    My wifi show connected, but when i use IE then i get a message page cannot be displayed.
    i spoke to asus technician and he said i need to in feed in the proxy server in connections. my my office has router and i talked to my hardware guy he says we dont need proxy server so have no proxy server so i dont know how do i start internet on my mobile.

    please if you can help me

      Has anyone upgraded to the latest WM6.1 ROM?
      I upgraded my P527 yesterday, and got into a problem with the Text Message settings.
      Before the upgrade, I took a backup of all the data using "Asus Backup" utility. After the upgrade, I used the same utility to restore the data. All went fine, till I noticed that I can no longer access my Text Messages. Clicking on the "Text Messages" takes me to MMS folder. On the dropdown filesystem menu, I see that the "Text Messages" folder is empty and doesn't have any subfolders.
      Before the upgrade, I had a GMail IMAP account configured, and now on the "Today" screen, I can see unread mail from this account. However, I cannot see any GMail account settings in the Messaging window.
      Does anyone know what's going wrong? I'm assuming that this might be a problem with the Asus Backup utility in not restoring the GMail settings properly, and hence corrupting the Text Msg settings. Now I can see text messages only when someone sends me an SMS. Once I read it and close the window, it's no longer accessible. But I know it's in the phone since I can see it the next time I get an SMS.
      Can someone please help?

It caches only a few maps at a time, and will then attempt to find a GPRS connection as soon as you venture outside the previous territory.

          As for the US, Google Maps would obviously be one option, but it will need an active connection, most data plans in the US are pretty high! Since you should already have Destinator installed on your device, you can easily find compatible US maps on the web.

Maybe Microsoft implemented it this way because it is not usual for people to use double-clicks using a stylus, where click-and-hold also works as a context menu launcher.

                      In some apps, however, it is possible to select an items or multiple items with the first click, and then launch them using a second click - but then, why would you select an item if you don't intend to use/launch it in some way, and if that is what you intend to do, why wouldn't you want to do it with just a single click?

                        I want to select with first tap, and then run that stuff with second tap using stylus. It just just like single click to select and double click to open in windows XP OS.

                        How can I do this? I cannot see any option to change tapping behavior

The P750 ROM's for many regions were released about a couple weeks back. So, it is nice to see them start on delivering the P527 ones too! My guess that the ROM's for other regions, including India, should be following soon.

In case of your apps, you will have to go through all the directories on your storage, and you will need to manually delete any files or folders that these apps may have left behind. But be careful - don't delete any files in the system folders which you are not too sure about, since these may cause other apps to stop working.

                                    Hi Prashant,

                                    Can you suggest, how can I remove programs from ASUS P527. I went to 'Remove Programs' and deleted the programs that I wanted to remove from the list. However, I still get to see those programs in my start menu and also access them. Is there any other way to do it. Programs that I want to delete are
                                    Pointui & iFonz.

                                      This phone is kind of slow even when there aren't any applications running. It's also a bit too bulky. The battery is very good. The wifi is perfect. You can probably find a nicer phone with a faster processor for the same price.
